Can not authenticate server (3) bug. help?

 So I know the common solutions to this bug. Run crysis code off the cd, enter your code in all caps.

 Make sure your antivirus does not conflict with crysis. I was thinking I might have a port forwarding issue, so just incase what ports would I have to forward to get around that?

 I purchased a retail copy of crysis by EA off amazon.com. it came with free super saver shipping. It is an orange cd though I noticed and called EA Value games.

 Any other thoughts? Right now I can only seem to join the Russian servers. I have had a lot of fun on the Russian servers but a lot of the people on those servers seem to have the same issue as me, at least the ones that can speak English.

 If you have any further tips or tricks I could try please let me know. it is getting frustrating to play when I only see one server available and it has 23 of 24 players, and I can't join.

 Again I am certain that my cd is legit and that I have entered my code correctly in all caps. Tried reinstalling it a few times, I might try that again now that I have changed antivirus. currently using bit-defender.

5. Re-Enter the CD-Key

1. First of all please go to "..\My Documents\My Games\" and delete the whole "Crysis" folder.
2. On the Crysis DVD please open the folder "Tools" and double click on "Crysis_code.exe".
3. If you have the download version you can find the .exe file here: C:\ProgramData\Electronic
Arts\EADM\cache\{number}\crysis_seX\tools
4. In the case you do not find the file use the windows search tool. Make sure you search in hidden folders
as well and search for "Crysis_code.exe".
5. Re-Enter your CD-Key in capital letters and click "OK" afterwards.
6. If you launch the game now everything should work as intended.

6. Add CD-Key manually to Registry

1. Windows XP: Start -> Run
2. Windows Vista: Start -> All Programs -> Accessoires -> run
3. Type in "regedit" (without "") and press Enter
4. Windows 32-Bit: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\Electronic
Arts\Crysis\ergc
5. Windows 64-Bit: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic
Arts\Electronic Arts\Crysis\ergc
6. Check if your CD-Key is available as value in the right window. If not double-click on "(Default)" and type
in the key without "-" and in capital letters.

And please make sure Crysis has outbound connection.

  I can currently connect to the russian server by the way and that is how I played for the last three weeks, but I am looking forwards to having more acess than that. tyvm.

 No luck still unfortunately.

 Should I try to add it to the registry manually? I am running windows 7 64 bit.

Okay I checked my registry and the windows key is there, I still can not authenticate though, but I can play on the russian server and there are a few players now.

 Gonna go blow some things up, let me know if you guys have any ideas.

Did you delete the Crysis folder in ...\My Documents\My Games\ and recreated your profile in Crysis (not the MOD)? If your key works on one server it should work on any other.

Only that this "russian" server doesn't have key authentification IIRC... as in, is the successor to the dreaded "BOSS" server

 Ah I see, while I was lurking I read about the boss server..

 Is that why an little osirus was able to stomp my madcat teh other day? I couldn't even score more than a light hit to him. Me and a buddy did kill him with hawkmoths but it took about 10 minutes of constant bombardment.... I think I had to reload my ammo 3 times.

Steam may be the easiest but I would still purchase a hard copy of any game I buy.

One question still remains. Are you able to run Crysis vanilla and join any server running 1.21?

What are you saying, we got another server like the BOSS server or just something that looks like it?
I will admidt I have seen some odd things now and then on that server which I find hard understand how could happen.

Have you tried contacting EA for a new CD-Key to your Crysis?

 I guess I could do that, but I do not see why a big company would care about one customer. I'll go ahead and give it a shot after work or on saturday.

 Good news. EA support was helpful - they were very kind and appreciated my input. Anyway I will be playing on non pirate servers now so shoot me out of the sky a few times pls, TY TY.
