Don't get me wrong, I do not like disrupting others game, but I DO like racing games/simulations that allow some contact or even promote it, like Flatout 2, which is one of the best racing games I know.
Pure simulation is kind of a bore to me...
Did you try Split/Second?
You set off traps to try and take out your opponents, so most of the time YOU aren't doing the damage, but the environment is (You can still push guys into walls and all of that)
It got pretty good ratings (8.5ish), and the demo was fun
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpnUzI04_1sI was just playing around in free play, because I can't afford the R1 cars yet, and I noticed something a little odd.
I was playing on Expert difficulty with a Microsoft steering wheel and at first I thought the AI was too good, because I couldn't go past a corner without spinning out, and at the start of the race I would usually stall, and then spin out from mashing on the gas. I went in Hot Lap mode, and practiced on Sebring for about 25ish laps. Eventually I could anticipate when the car would spin out and what not to do, so I thought that I could now compete with the AI
I set up a race on Sebring, started driving, and quickly figured out that the AI had the balls of an unborn fetus!
Every turn, I would crash into the back of their cars because they were going 20 mph slower than me, and hogging the whole road.
The second I get past them I begin building up a huge lead and lose sight of them in my rear view mirror.
I'm not sure if this is only on Sebring (I tried a few other tracks, but I'm sure that I could of done better) but the R1 AI is really weak.
Anyone else experience this?
