If its for importing the object into the Editor (Sandbox 2), the file needs to be imported into 3D Studio Max to be set up correctly with the Crytools and exported to the engine. 3DS Max is able to import most file extensions from Blender. The most used file type for exporting is .OBJ, (
or .FBX).
You can use any 3D Software (
GMax,
Blender,
TrueSpace,
Wings 3D etc.) as long 3D Studio Max can import it.
