Hello,

Not sure if this has already been reported or not. Was playing today on RUS MWLL #1 server map mirage. There seemed to be a Bermuda triangle where mechs could run in and disappear.

I was in a cougar stood on top of the ridge under the power lines. The bushwacker disappeared when it ran under power lines 500m away. It was doing a full circle but every time it went under the lines the mech disappeared.

Not seen this before so not sure if it’s a bug or lag

Yup, mechs seem to disappear at that place at certain distances. It could be a LOD issue, but I'm not sure.

I was playing with KitLightning the last time it happened and told him about it, so I guess this has already been reported.

yah, mirage has a lot of view distance issues. Just grab a mech and stand at any elevated ridge and all the features of the map besides terrain disappear even opponents. It seems to be tied to Time of Day however. I've tested that ridge and early ina match everything is invisible, but about 15-20mins in things start appearing again.

I accidentally ejected from a mech once while moving towards one of the mountainsides.
The mech ended up dissapearing into the mountain and was unrecoverable after that.

This report is about mechs becoming invisble, not falling into the ground

That sounds like a bug in the cryengine visibility detector part of the renderer. Unfortunately nothing we can do something about.

We are aware of this visual bug on Mirage. I suspect it may be due to a misplaced or incorrectly configured vis area, but we haven't had time to address it yet.

That's why the map is called "Mirage." It's not a bug but a "feature."

it's not vis areas- we've spent a good long while trying to track this bug down with no success. but it's rare enough that we decided to release the map as it was anyway. i've spent tons of time and even consulted with some people at crytek about it and they don't have a clue. every now and then i go back when i think of an idea that it could be but i've had 0 luck figuring it out
