I agree with Drego, I've played hundreds and hundreds of hours of BF2, he is right on this one.

The point still remains. No weapon in MWLL has a projectile that flies that fast.

I still don't remember having to lead very much (or at all for that matter) with a .50cal in BF2. I could be wrong, its been a while since I played it. Though AC2s in MWLL have to be lead a heck of alot more then any weapon in BF2 would be.

So if you want faster Aeros, we need faster projectiles. Otherwise lasers will be the only thing you will be able to hit reliably with.

That was because bullets in BF2 traveled at actual bullet speeds, and projectiles in MWLL don't. And yes, you did have to lead to hit a jet with the mobile AA.

One thing I would change in aeros is reloading. It is very easy (and fast) to just fly past your airfield and buy new firebombs and go back to bomb everything. 'I would change that you need to be stopped and landed to you your airfled to reload your aero.

OH, and btw this is VERY nice mod (just had to be said in my first post) ;)

Sudden pilot death syndrome (SPDS) means that landing is extremely hazardous even if you're a professional pilot; you come in for a landing, land fine, come to a stop, then you suddenly explode and loose rank. Once SPDS is fixed, I'd be fine with having to land to restock on ammo.

This. Also good luck landing anything smaller than a Shiva. Here's how it usually goes.

1) Pilot comes in for a landing, eases back on throttle, goes low, and levels out pointing slightly toward the ground
2) Pilot cuts throttle to land without crashing
3) Plane goes into a slow tail spin. Crysis says "how do I momentum?"
4a) Having cut the throttle a little too early, the plane's tail touches the ground first at ~5kph and it explodes violently
4b) Having cut the throttle a little too late, the plane's body touches the ground first at ~50kph and it explodes violently if it was orange/red in damage already (oh well, no repair for you, enjoy your suicide and rank loss)
4c) The pilot got lucky, and the plane's body lands first either at a slow speed or at a fast speed without much preexisting damage. Repair and rearm are successful. Even then, sometimes...
5) SPDS strikes - enjoy your suicide and rank loss again

think I mentioned it earlier, but actually the SPDS only strikes on me when i have a rather high ping.
the only plane that is troublesome to land in any case is the sulla, the problem about that one is the landing gear.
actually it's the rear wheels, they are to much at the center of the aircraft which makes it very likely to hit the ground with the tail first, unless you touch down with all wheels at the same time.
If at first you don't succeed try again, and if you don't try again, you'll be hit in the face with a shovel!

I usually land like this:

Come in nice and slow, about half throttle.
Get low, like only a few feet off the runway.
Drop throttle to nothing and level with lctrl.
Let the Aero just drop on the runway.
Move as needed for repair.

Haven't had a crash this way yet. Its not intuitive to how one would normally land a plane, but it works. If you get the mindset off that you're landing a plane you should be good to go. All Aeros are is modified VTOLS in the cryengine.

^^^ this is what ive been doing and it works great for sullas. I've landed sullas with this method when the body armor was black.

I land sullas by coming in as slow as possible while being able to maintain control, when I'm a foot off the runway I hit X and the plane drops. Takes a little damage every time but  I haven't blown up yet doing this. Still, Sullas are easily the hardest to land.

Well, to be honest, I haven't seen anyone having problems with landing an aerospace in the latest version. It is very easy, and usually you can get away with it without taking significant damage. The only case when it can tricky is when the body is black.

I often play on servers with high ping (~200), but I am yet to encounter with difficulties in this matter.

If you're REALLY careful landing even with a black body is possible. But you still go BOOM more often than necessary and the line between successful landing and utter fireball-y destruction is quite thin :/
Also you still tend to gib inside your cockpit.

Happened to me as my shiva was rolling down the runway the other day.

The other day I exploded on the runway taking off.  That was kind of weird.   I think maybe my mouse nudged a nanometer down while I was rolling forward.

Are you all taking off at full throttle?
