mechs
« on: November 03, 2007, 10:20:19 PM »
i was just wondering i saw somewhere on here a list of mechs and classes of soldiers and armor. But what got me wondering is how many mech that looks to be avaliable for us gamers. I didnt see a puma and with a couple of pumas running around the heavy mechs blasting away with their er ppc's to soften up the heavy mechs up plus blasting at the armour(tanks and such) and longbows with their long range weapons to really soften up the enemy before they are in range with their weapons. Are there gonna be more mechs in the game like in MW mercs plus what in the clan and inner sphere mech packs ?

Follow the links provided in that page and you will see the list of all of the different assets being created. The Puma is there, but the Longbow is not. Of course you never saw the old MechWarrior games coming out with ALL the mechs in a single release did you? We plan on releasing additional Mechs and Vehicles to play with in booster packs after the release.

These are what we felt were the CORE mechs and most important to us personally. Some dev's had favorites others are in there intentionally for balance. The other reason the whole group was selected was because of the legs. If you notice we have all three major leg types...and just for clarification the legs are the most challenging part of implementing these guys in the engine. Now we have regular knee, reverse knee and double jointed. It was really important to me to get at very least one of each type in. Because of this once the system has been setup it is relatively fast to implement a similarly constructed mech.

For example. Thor/Summoner and Loki have close to identical legs....so adding a loki onto the list would be fairly easy later on.

Use the link Kamikaze posted above. That is the most comprehensive public list of gear to be found in the game.
