Crysis no longer launches

Now that that's out of the way. A few buddies and I are getting ready to do a let's play  of the ENTIRE Battletech franchise for Something Awful. While we aren't doing fan games, I thought that I'd show off Living Legends because it's freaking sweet. So I just bought a copy of crysis off of steam which I believe comes prepatched to 1.21 (the launcher says it is). I downloaded the 3.0 beta and the two hotfixes after that. The second patch threw a hissy fit and decided to corrupt itself. I had to redownload it. I got patched up and booted up the game. Wooh! I created my player profile and my game froze. Nooo! So I loaded up again. Wooh! Modified files detected. No! Unistall and reinstall the patches, game boots fine. Wooh! Load a lan map to get used to controls. Wooh! And it freezes during the loading screen. Noo! And that bring me to my current problem that Crysis will no longer launch. When I go to lauch Living Legends or  Crysis and I get a black screen followed by crysis has stopped working. Any help would be nice.

My stats:
ATI radeon HD 5850
i7 proc clocked to 3.2 out of 3.8 Ghz
8 gigs of Ram

Also I  do not have any kind of anti virus right now

Well the first thing you could try, which seems to work in most cases.
Delete your profile and create a new one. Could be your profile got corrupted somehow.

My documents\My Games\Crysis\Profiles.

Secondly, since you had an issue with installing the first time and the first suggestion dont work, you could try reinstalling MWLL again.

Since I'm not much of a techie myself so I will thirdly suggest you try looking in some of the other similar posts on the forum here to see if there are something there that may help.
You never know, maybe someone had a similar problem and found a solution that you can use.

Oh and you better get an anti-virus program ASAP, or you just risk getting something on your computer that will trash everything.
And by not having one you may very well be a source of infection for others, even though it may not be intentional and you most likely dont know about it either.

You will have to reinstall Crysis. There isn't any other option. That happened to me shortly after I built my new PC.

Turns out it was a corrupted profile. Now one of the things I noticed was that fences appear to be one hit kills. Is that normal?

E: I had AVG up untill last night when I posted, I think that may have something to do with it.

with AVG you have to make it not monitor your Mydoc\my games\ folder as MWLL writes to it quite a bit and AVG will give a cluster F when checking them.

I've never had a fence 1 shot me. are you in a BA or a mech?

Nice to hear you got it up and running.
Not sure I understand what youre saying with these fences.
Are you saying the fences 1 shot kill you or you can 1 shot to destroy them?
Most fences that are destructible can be destroyed with a shot from the MG more or less I think.
Never heard of anyone getting killed by fences before though.
If youre a BA and land badly on a fence it might be possible though.

Do you remember what map it was on and what kind of fences it was?
I could do some testing and see if there might be a problem.

I was in a BA on I believe Clear cut and I sprinted through a fence. It insta killed me and said it was a Suicide. Personally I think it's hilarous.

oh yeah the trees... I've actually been killed trees falling on me in clearcut

Clearcut is a "special case".
I have seen flying trees and what not there.

Now I've keep running into a problem, I keep pressing eject when I try to turn right
Is there a way to change it to something like control + F?

E: Also in the video my mouse shows up at the bottom every now and again. Thats because Crysis/LL doesn't go full screen anymore. My taskbar is clearly visible to me.

That may be because your resolution is set to the same as your desktop and if its not loading the game in fullscreen that happens.

Make sure that the in game menu "Full Screen" is ticked on. To switch between Fullscreen to Windowed mode press Alt+Enter.

I have the same problem, although I have mine assigned to "Z", so this happens allot when I try to stop my mech/vehicle by pressing "X".
What I would suggest is assign that function to a button thats not near any buttons you use often, F1 has been suggested by others.
I tried that myself for a while, but have become so accustomed to the placement of my button that I cant get used to having it assigned to F1, might try a different placement though.

What annoys me a bit is that the actionmnapper cant seem to detect the "<" buton, between left shift and "Z" buttons for me, and its not in the list of available buttons either or I would have used that button instead of "Z".

Another fix that i was thinking of; is it possible to swap the turning to my mouse and twisting to A & D? Because of all the Fps' I play I'm so used to turning with a Mouse/Right thumbstick

All right I've run into another problem, when I try to log in to crynet with my gamespy id it goes "Invalid Username or Password" So I try to see what my info is so a try to retrive my password, then "AN EMAIL HAS NOT BEEN SENT TO THIS EMAIIL ACCOUNT" then when I try to make one it says "Ivalid Email and/or Password"
Any help would be awesome oppossum

E: Aha! Somebody might want to sticky this somewhere. So after hunting through the interwebs for answers, I found a post that fixed my problem. Because of how buggy crysis is, what you do is recreate ypur gamespy ID EXACTLY LIKE IT IS in game and that fixes it, You need: The same username, same email, same password, same country and same birthday and Voila insta access to something you already made!
