Hmmm.
Looking at the MB I think maybe some moving of those screw in a screw might be in order.
Just shows how much I know about computers. :P

I'll look into it, thanks of the tip.

Been a while since anything was said about this, but I had a recent development on this issue I thought was worth mentioning.
I just upgraded from Win XP 32 bit to Win 7 64 bit, and so far it seems that this has solved the problem for me.
I have for various reasons not been able to do much testing so I still want to do some more, but the prognosis so far looks good.
This is for me a very pleasant change, as the CTD problem has been very profound for me, with several of them each match.
This will also refute the point that some has made that the cause of the problem is hardware related, and that my system is not up to spec.

Good to hear. Just out of curiosity... are you using an ATI card, and are you now running MWLL in DirectX 10?

And are you using the 64-bit client or the 32-bit one?

I use Nvidia Geeforce GTS 250 1 GB Vram.
I have tried ATI in the past, and they have never given me anything but trouble with the driver installation which is why I never use them.

I'm running MWLL in 64 bit dx9 mode.
Had no problems so far.
I tried dx10, but I felt it became too laggy.
Probably cause I only got 4 GB ram, which I plan on doubling when I get some more money next month.

I was playing some early this morning as I wanted to do some more testing, but due to some players being unable to keep to server rules by following me all the way into our hangar and killing me there when I was trying to repair, I gave up playing as it became too frustrating.

And I like to be able to bring some good news once in a while, not only bad ones and bug reports.

Information appreciated. One thank you for that!

Hmmn. A bit off topic, but I can say I would do the same. I am not fond of camping the enemy base, but if someone runs and I have the armour to follow them and finish the job I will. If my stravag opponent runs to hide in its base I will go after it if I can and smash it right there. Once that is done I will make it a point not to linger nearby but instead try to get some distance to allow for my opponent(s) to come out and fight properly. Retreating for repairs is part of the open SA game mode, but so is preventing your opponent from getting that repair.

/Merf - Tried dx9 once... felt it was horrible and switched back to dx10

That is really interesting. If what I found out in my few polls inquiring about CTDs you should be back to crashing if you play with DX10 using the 64bit client while running on W7. DX9 should be fine.
But this was always in combination with ATI cards. NVIDIA did not seem to cause much trouble.

Once I'm done with my thesis I will install 32bit W7. This should also eliminate mass CTDs, as long as I stay on DX10.

It's my theory that ATI, 32 bit OS, and dx9 (at least 2 of them in combination, perhaps all 3) are the problem. I'd test 64 bit OS and game client, but don't feel reinstalling to 64bit.

ATI card, win7 64bit here running dx10 in 32bit client.
I get crashes, but not mass crashes. The crashes I get are to 90% CryAnimation.dll in vicinity of, fighting with or zooming on a Nova Cat. Rest of 10 % are a crashes in CryPhysics.dll (often when running very fast into thing/over rough terrain) and some dx10/ATI dlls.

/Merf - Would consider the mod as stable as most retail games if the CryAnimation.dll crashes vanished (It is currently somewhat more error prone).

Incorrect. Im running XP 32 bit, using directx9 with a modded config to enable some of the 'dx10 only'effects and my game is VERY stable.

Im running an ATI Radeon HD 4870 1gig and all is well.

New idea- would I be able to use an external hard drive to add RAM and/or improve gigahertz?

You get out of here with your theory defying config/setup.

After just running an 85 minute match without a single CTD, there can be no more doubt.
I finally got rid of those pesky CTDs, and not a moment too soon.
They have been a major nuisance to me.
