server authentication(3)=key disabled
« on: August 28, 2010, 11:53:42 AM »
Hi, I keep getting 'server authentication failed' on every server i want to join.
I patched my game to latest (1.2.1) and my MWLL to 0.3.2 and it made an auto update.
Does anyone els have this problem to connect? Is there some fix?

Usually that happens if you crash and you are still logged into the gamespy servers. Normally waiting a few minutes fixes the problems. If that does not apply you might have a problem with your gamespy account. Make shure that you create a account in the original crysis and then use it inside mwll.
There comes a point where the talking must stop, and people have to do actual work.

I made a new account in crysis and logged in. I started MWLL and I logged in.
I still have the same issue: Server Authentication failed (3).
The '(3)' probably means something but I have no idea what.
I heard (2) was for punkbuster.

Problem found.
I made a dedicated server and connected to it.
I had the same problem but I checked my server.
It said: Your CD Key is disabled.
This was supposed to be a 'message'.

Looks like I'm in for a new CD Key.

Correct me if I am wrong here, but if you BOUGHT Crysis, there should not be such problems, right?

Maybe it's related to Failspy acting up over the last couple of days? I wouldn't buy a new Crysis just yet.

The CD-Key is one of the most frequent elements in Crysis that gets corrupted :( Writing in the one you have from the original CD ususally does the trick else just use the tool "Crysis_code.exe" to fix your CD Key.

Quote
5. Re-Enter the CD-Key

1. First of all please go to "..\My Documents\My Games\" and delete the whole "Crysis" folder.
2. On the Crysis DVD please open the folder "Tools" and double click on "Crysis_code.exe".
3. If you have the download version you can find the .exe file here: C:\ProgramData\Electronic
Arts\EADM\cache\{number}\crysis_seX\tools
4. In the case you do not find the file use the windows search tool. Make sure you search in hidden folders
as well and search for "Crysis_code.exe".
5. Re-Enter your CD-Key in capital letters and click "OK" afterwards.
6. If you launch the game now everything should work as intended.

6. Add CD-Key manually to Registry

1. Windows XP: Start -> Run
2. Windows Vista: Start -> All Programs -> Accessoires -> run
3. Type in "regedit" (without "") and press Enter
4. Windows 32-Bit: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\Electronic
Arts\Crysis\ergc
5. Windows 64-Bit: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic
Arts\Electronic Arts\Crysis\ergc
6. Check if your CD-Key is available as value in the right window. If not double-click on "(Default)" and type
in the key without "-" and in capital letters.

I bought, having the same problems only on MWLL servers. In Crysis all fine. Even after reinstalling Crysis and delitin profiles.

then it might be something in the game (MWLL) itself that causes this error?

I think Gamespy blocked some users with MWLL patch.

In registry the key must be  ****-*****-****-****-****, then it works.
