Could someone/a few people test out my semi-permanent server?
« on: August 29, 2010, 04:53:34 PM »
Hey all. I have a  semi-permanent up and running, I was just wondering if a few people could connect to it and browse around for at least a few to make sure others(other than myself on LAN) can connect properly.

Its called: "Corpse Factory - USA - MA"

I used to be in a clan for quake1 and DMC(deathmatch classic, HL1 mod) called [CF] (corpse factory). Think its a silly name. just like my name. fits well!

Anyways, thanks all!

Kinda a quick update - I didn't see someone connect(not sure if crysis server console SHOWS people conencting), but I saw an odd message:

What is with that?

I had my server up a few days ago for the whole day, and I saw a bunch of those messages, maybe 6 or 7 of the same ones, but with different IP's...?

The last string is just the Client connecting to your server, his IP and internet provider as well as the cause of the server kicking him :D

I also run a semi-permanent, mainly for mates/lanning.. but I do notice when I open it that I get alot of "cd-key invalid" disconnects... couple that with the fact that something like 80% of the public crysis servers I see in the ingame browser are cracked(and state it lol) these days it doesnt surprise me that alot of people try to connect with a cracked copy of the game.

Personally, I find it slightly annoying, especially when its the same IP over and over(.. get the message buddy, BUY IT).. but piracy exists unfortunately so not alot we can do about it.

Used the name FragFactory.inc for a loose gathering of people (semi-clan) during quake1. Thought the similarity interesting...

Firstly, I changed the name of the server from Corpse Factory, to "Newbies Only!!," to promote new players to come on in and play. Yes I realize that newer players will not always join, but I hope anyone that joins the server that is not that new will lend some helping hands out.

Secondly, question: How can I modify the MOTD? I looked quite a bit on google for some help, but havnt found anything for crysis MOTD or MWLL MOTD.

And lastly, the server works, peoples pings are decent, and I was able to test it out at a friends house in Maine last week. Pings and packetloss are almost null, so that is a good thing. It's running on a Core2 duo, win 7 64-bit ultimate, 6gig ddr2 ram, raptor 10,000rpm HDD.

If anyone cares, I also run a quake1 server from time to time on it, a warsow server, and sometimes instead of MWLL server I run a Fortress Forever server.

All my servers are called "Corpse Factory - USA - MA," with exception(now) to this one. w00t sc00t.

i find allways the message ... invalid cd key in my game.log file, when i try to access any server.
I thought , the game is so miserable age old that my legal cd-key from the box is not valid anymore and forced EA to generate a new key for me.
But also with the new key, i can not join any server wich uses the mod, but every vanilla crysis server around the world

You already have a thread open on this here, there is no need to raise the issue in this topic as well.
