Game doesn't load / launch properly

Sup everyone, I love mech games, and since MR is STILL in the works, I was kinda screwed.
Then I found this game, and I love the way it looks.
Well now I can't get it to work.
I believe Crysis runs fine, as I started it and made a profile.

What happens is, I click "launch game" or whatever it is on the MWLL launcher, the screen goes black, and nothing.
I can let it sit for awhile, still nothing.
I removed the start up video in an attempt to remedy it, but it was a fail.

I can't exit the black screen, but I can open my task manager, which brings my desktop to front, with a message saying "Crysis stopped working".
Any suggestions? I searched the forum but nothing I found worked.

The generic answer for people in your position is as follows:
1. clear out your My Games\Crysis\Profiles folder
2. load up MWLL
3. Create a new profile for MWLL, then quit.
4. Run the actionmap utility, (it's the button that says "Configure actionmaps" on the launcher), select your MWLL profile.
Even if you don't want to change anything, run it anyways so it selects the right profile for MWLL and you can be sure that the MWLL actionmaps are applied.
5. Try again!

That failing, try running vanilla Crysis and see if you get the same thing.

Well, I got the game to run. I have a profile, etc, but I cannot join a game. I get the "Unable to authenticate server (3)"  ( or something similar to that error)

This game is my last chance at mech-ness. Exteel sucked and is gone now, Metal Rage, well, doesn't really exist or something, and no other place provides that kind of game. At this place is Mech Warrior for cryin out loud!

 Do you have a valid crysis CD key? Specifying exact error message would also help pinpointing your problem. BTW, are you able to launch multiplayer in vanilla crysis?

Probably not running Crysis 1.21 which is required for this mod to work. Grab the 1.20 and 1.21 Updates, install them and try again.

It simply means a fresh install, and that no patches or anything else has altered the original installation.

The Server Authentication (3) is your CD-Key that is corrupted. First try write the CD-Key in via the ingame menu if that does not fix it, use the tool "Crysis_code.exe" found on your Crysis CD.
Though that said sometimes the server is not able to validate the CD-Key and either restarting the game or reconnecting to the same or another server will validate the key, i.e. if it is not corrupted.

5. Re-Enter the CD-Key

1. First of all please go to "..\My Documents\My Games\" and delete the whole "Crysis" folder.
2. On the Crysis DVD please open the folder "Tools" and double click on "Crysis_code.exe".
3. If you have the download version you can find the .exe file here: C:\ProgramData\Electronic
Arts\EADM\cache\{number}\crysis_seX\tools
4. In the case you do not find the file use the windows search tool. Make sure you search in hidden folders
as well and search for "Crysis_code.exe".
5. Re-Enter your CD-Key in capital letters and click "OK" afterwards.
6. If you launch the game now everything should work as intended.

6. Add CD-Key manually to Registry

1. Windows XP: Start -> Run
2. Windows Vista: Start -> All Programs -> Accessoires -> run
3. Type in "regedit" (without "") and press Enter
4. Windows 32-Bit: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\Electronic
Arts\Crysis\ergc
5. Windows 64-Bit: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic
Arts\Electronic Arts\Crysis\ergc
6. Check if your CD-Key is available as value in the right window. If not double-click on "(Default)" and type
in the key without "-" and in capital letters.

Probably not running Crysis 1.21 which is required for this mod to work. Grab the Crysis Patch 1.2 and Crysis Hotfix 1.21, install them and try again.

Well guys, it's still a negative.

I installed vanilla crysis, then updated it (1.1 to 1.2 to the one after that).
Then I reinstalled MWLL full, then updated that to it's most recent version.
I started MWLL, created a profile, then exited.
THen I opened the action mappper thingy, to set my profile to default, then re-launched.
Still the Server Authentication error (3) comes up.
If I click "Quick Join", it will sometimes find a game, but times out.

Quick join is the worst way to try to connect to a game.  A lot of times it will right a high ping server which will just time out.  Go to the multiplayer browser and a select a low ping server.

Didi you do the CD key fix that KitLighting put up?

The only reason I haven't tried it that way is because I'm getting frustrated.

You should have been giving the "Register Crysis" window, while you where installing the game, which is one of the first things you'll need to enter iirc.

The tool to fix the CD-Key is on the DVD itself (see supra: 5. Re-Enter the CD-Key)

Yeah, I found the tool, and yes it did ask me to enter the key before the installation.
I entered it, the box went away, and the game finished installing.

And I updated it to 1.21, all the patches went in fine.

But still same error. I'm uninstalling it all right now.
I'm going to try once more, hopefully something goes right z.z

I got normal Crysis to join a game.
Attempting to install and patch MWLL.

I really hope this works.



EDIT: The Installation guide seems outdated. Let's see if I'm doing this properly.

First off, I don't have a MWLL rar file. It's an installer. Setup runs, I select where my crysis is installed, and it installs MWLL by itself.
Second, I run patch 0.3.1.
Third, I run patch 0.3.2

That should be it, right?
