I really like the way the community here are adding their own things to the game and not only new maps at that, but other things like this as well.
It adds a uniqueness to the game and makes it much more interresting.

You finish that mech there buddy, I would love to try that out.

+1 karma, I really like this design.

At first it looked strange, but ive grown to love the concept of its offset cockpit, which i find interesting
both aesthetically and for gameplay purposes.

Keep up the good work!

New idea- would I be able to use an external hard drive to add RAM and/or improve gigahertz?

Very nice work. Definitely would add some uniqueness to the MWLL mech selections and I do like how you have taken some creative license and made the mech a little different. Would be nice if the Vulture, Catapult, Timberwolf legs worked on it because that would really get it into the game a lot quicker if you gave the design to the Mod.

Just throwing an idea for shortcuts, why not use the bushy's legs? Would that help in animation?

Still looks awesome Bee.

It'd be a shame to see the legs go tho, I think their definitely the best bit on the model.

Great model, but my only concern is, what counts as the left torso? The LRM-10 rack?

Will coring this thing be too easy since the torso locations are so big because of the lack of a proper left torso?

I think it should be done a little bit different(see attach). Hitboxes would differ from actual torso segments purely for gamplay balance. And LRM and SRM pods should be left and right externals, like Timby's ears.

I personally love the Ebon Jaguar, it may be the one mech I might pick instead of my Mad Dog on occasion but I was personally devastated to see it turned into a crappy WWII plane with legs in MW4, so the cockpit sitting center would be a major + 12  to me. Also, it is far too tall, as the legs actually creep up over the top, like the Nova/Blackhawk, as its chassis was one of the inspirations. Other than that, I am so stoked to see you make a model of it! Stay classy!

A small update.

The front heatsink has had it's fins redone, resized the hip slightly and added a small amount of extra room under the torso for twisting (it was able to do so before, but there is now a little more room).

Without the barrels of the arm guns and the laser pod it weighs in at 9900 polys (triangulated). Im still not happy with the back which I want to get done before I start on the high poly. Truth be known im stumped on that bit.

Thanks for the support guys :) As for the hit-boxes, I was thinking along the same lines as Siilk. I wanted to make it lower, but nothing I tried looked "right". With this design, it has free leg movement for run animations.

hmmmm wat?

Did you mean...
The Cauldron-born's torso twist ability was limited due to the legs?

or

Not due to the legs?

As far as I recall it had almost zero torso twist in MW2 and MW3, due to it was modelled very close to original CBT art, with legs and arms attached to the shoulders, like on that miniature:

Again, due to the reason's the nova isn't going to make a showing, I doubt it'd be possible to pursue such a design route with the Cauldron Born, as unfortunate as that is for some (Although personally I much prefer the look of torso on top of the legs).

Good updates there mate, can't wait to see the high poly version!

Granted that tro is mw3 specific, i have no idea how accurate it is to cbt. that is what i was thinking when i posted though.

hmmm i see what you guys mean about the legs killing torso twist in the orginal design See here

Bee's upgrade makes more sense when you consider the canon variants have it being used as a All around mech.  having a limited TT would immediately remove it as a front line mech otherwise.

Yeah the nova, kit fox, and ebon jaguar all have no torso twist, but that is not really an inhibiting factor to their fighting due to the simple fact that the design is meant to have very versatile legs that can pan over quickly, so it turns with a relative speed to that of a torso twist, especially the kit fox.

There is also another design element at work here. The fixed leg mechs are fixed not just for appearance, but because they make a more stable firing platform for heavier weapons, as they can lock in place. That is how the Kit fox is able to hold such powerful weapons that are nearly impossible to fire while moving, like the Gauss rifle (Yes, in cbt unless you really like missing, you got to stop to fire the big guns). The fixed legs are more stable so that the legs take the shock, so that the mech does not rock like normal mechs after firing, which makes the Ebon Jaguar a very deadly heavy weapons mech indeed.
