AAA, in your example the gauss looks quite ok (this obviously all nitpicking), but I remember it differently from my gaming experience (high settings on 4.3).
I'll have to check that, there was probably a bug or something but my beams where much "stronger" both in color and opacity, just like a laser, which didn't really fit the gauss.
I'm still a fan of the hardly visible MW3 gauss though :D

Got some screenshots on Low, Medium, and High - all DX10.  There was no discernible difference between High and Very High, or between IS Gauss and CGauss, and I can't attach more than 10 anyway.  In order of appearance, because I'm too lazy to rename all the files:

(C)Gauss LOW
(C)Gauss MED
(C)Gauss HIGH

HGauss LOW
HGauss MED
HGauss HIGH

Lt. Gauss LOW
Lt. Gauss MED
Lt. Gauss HIGH

Hm, weird, why is there some black smoke for the Lt. Gauss on Med and barely anything on Low?

Also imho the (C)Gauss looks better in Low and Med than on high :D (too many ripples on High?)

Yeah, Clan and Heavy Gauss is what I remembered, they look kinda extreme on higher settings.
I like the light one on high though, pretty much how I would have done all of them (except different sizes/sounds/colors).

With sufficient warping of the space you could definitely achieve the same effect without the color that makes no sense being there.

Effects were adjusted for different system specs because they can be rather expensive for low end machines. See our front page post here for details:

Yeah, but I play on High and Med (both DX9 and DX10) and never noticed the smoke though. Will have to look more closely next time ;)
