Nice, I actually took my steel battalion controller out of the closet the other day in preparation to sell it. I never play it so I figured why bother hanging onto it.

I'm sorry... it just isn't Steel Battalion without the massive, destroyer of worlds, controller.

QFT

Shame as the style could be interesting.

/Merf - Luvs stuff that looks worn out.

Perhaps you'd be interested in my old PS/2 keyboard then... the plastic on the side of the 'A' key has been worn down quite a bit :p... still perfectly usable too.. just needs a teeny bit more force on a few keys

Plastic seldom has the proper worn look. To begin with plastic is a too modern material, and secondly it ages by looking dirty instead of looking worn.

/Merf - Cursed be the plastic age!

If that key wears down much more, there will be a hole in it :p. Had it 10-11 years now.

I saw that and was like WTF, but then if they were going to be controlled by massive virtual controls ala the omni tool in  Mass Effect  I thought... maybe that would be cool but then read it was in a future were all "high" tech was gone and WTF again.

On one hand, since when could a touchscreen interface, much less a MOVEMENT-BASED interface, ever work well? And if they're trying to generate sales, why force people to play the game with a gigantic, overpriced, not cool looking control scheme?
On the other hand, the series was a console-only game to begin with, and HOLY fapp MECHS THAT LOOK LIKE BEACH-HEAD BOATS

Here's to hoping for a PC port. Then again, it's Sega, who will deny the existence of the PC platform until someone kills all but one of the development team by bludgeoning them with a tower.

the possibility of a pc port is very very very low

And that's why I hate Capcom. PC gamers and more-complex-than-Halo games go together like 12 year olds and GIFT. Why do they insist on making more-complex-than-Halo games for the consoles when Westerners will gladly eat up this stuff if it came out on the PC?

honestly im amazed anyone makes games for the PC with the amount of pirating that happens to a game when on the PC. I mean each developer of a PC game is looking at 500k+ games illegally downloaded. It is a sad truth, I wish more games would be made for the PC; nothing beats the customization of a PC  8)

Well devs are starting to tie games to internet dedicated services which should cut down on piracy a bit.

Well devs are starting to tie games to internet dedicated services which should cut down on piracy a bit.

And the official playerbase, as the pirates will simply emulate those servers.

If they instead make an honest to god good game, theyd easily make their money back.

The industry needs to accept piracy, put in sensible and reasonable DRM (not limited installs or ONLINE for singleplay or that bullshit) and support it well, and they will easily make their money back.

Also, the news the new SB is going to be on the kinect is...

what.

I dont even see how that CAN work. Brings a whole new meaning to 'do the robot'.

'No longer must these barbarian hordes suffer through the dark, violent night of their own folly. We are returning; we are the sun of righteousness that will illuminate those who dream of peace.'

'It's too bad they don't have a "Report to Mother button", I bet you'd be slapping that one twenty-four-seven so she'd come dry your tears when your own idiocy leads you to failure in a game on the internet.' - dimachaerus

New idea- would I be able to use an external hard drive to add RAM and/or improve gigahertz?

Honestly, I believe the piracy needs to accept industry.  I'm all for more SC2-like games that force internet connectivity, and enforce strictly any laws regarding pirate servers (Put them in jail, I don't f'ing care, they're ruining my gaming platform).  Yes companies make shitty games, feel free to pirate them.  But when you pirate a good game, you shit on PC gamers everywhere.  To hell with everyone everyone who does.

I've never played the original Steel Battalion unfortunately, but I really don't see how it would work with Kinect. I've seen pics of the monolithic controller... I also don't really like the WWII aesthetic. The thing about there being no computers doesn't make any sense either. Oh well, I guess we'll have to see how good/bad it ends up.
