The current issue with the novacat causes the bouding box of the legs to go invaild sometimes. For radar we use a CryEngine collision function that most likely relies on a valid bouding box. So this bug is most likely due to the same reasons that the novacat crashes the game.

I have to wonder if battle armor ever suffers from a similar issue.  Occasionally, they're a bit squirrely on the radar screen.

Thats more likely due to their small radar signature and that they can jump jet out of that radar range very quickly, especially if you're not using BAP/BHP

... their small radar signature
Could you please explain that? Sounds like different mechs got different radar signatures, not depending on their electronics.

He's referencing BA, which only have a 100m detection signature with standard active radar.  If you happen to be running passive, you won't be able to detect BA at all, even when they are standing on your head.

Out of curiosity, are you ever standing near an Atlas when you seem to have gecm?

Thats odd as I can regulary detect BAs in passive radar.

Unless its to do with having BAP/BHP, which doesn't make alot of sense as they are active probes and should not be powered in passive radar mode?

I have been able to target BA even when running passive.

But the NovaCat issue never happened to me again now. I even tried the same map, the same base. And on other maps, but I could never see an ECM symbol when running active. Must have been a trick of my mind or maybe another unit running right next to me with ECM or just passive.

But still there are some inconsistencies regarding the radar.
