So, what's the status of the project?

looks like it has some potential, but...

o_O duh.... what they've done to poor atlas? Looks... weird. Not even saying about very odd missile launchers but this head... erm... weird.

Either way - they stand no match against mwll FFA mode 8)

It's not Solaris unless it has mech melee.

Looks no worse than the bath tub cockpit of MWLL's Atlas.  ::)

If the pilot actually looks out of the cockpit like in MWLL, that head would be great if the pilot rides high in it.

The Pilot sits dead centre in the cockpit, though how it looks from the inside remains in the dark :(

Looks like another interesting modern Battletech project.
But I thought that mektek's developing priority is MP4 or maybe AT1-BT...

Interesting, I'd be happy for them if the guys making mw5 would pick them up for an expansion.  Definitely smart on their end to start getting dev experience with the unreal 3 engine.  Good way to transition from being a "free" fan project to actually becoming a real money making dev studio.  I wonder if they're just port over MW4 models as place holders.

I doubt they'd keep those place holders in, just look at their redone Atlas.

More mech action = we're the winners :D

I am sure that this will probably be a very fun and well thought out project (Mektek does make very good things) but this is hardly my cup of tea. I imagine this will be a sort of MechAssault to my Mechwarrior as Mechwarrior is to Mechwarrior Living legends. If that makes sense. Not necessarily negative, but too glancing at the universe for my tastes.

Looks like another interesting modern Battletech project.
But I thought that mektek's developing priority is MP4 or maybe AT1-BT...

AT1 is not actually a full MT project but is actually a group of independent developers, they are working together with MekTek but it is more symbolically.

Also, the problem some users might have with the Kodiak, and the Atlas... and the... all of them is that they are the uncannon bastard children of the quick-to-market video game industry rather than the creative minds that came up with them. However, this is really to be expected, as MekTek has a long lasting track record and deep love for all things uncannon/their own design. (Like preferring the MW4 herp a derp Mad Dog over the real one... wtf? Or... Deimos???) Which is totally fine in its own right, just not Battletech.

EDIT: I guess what I am trying to say is that they make cool crap, REALLY cool crap. They just seem to make their stuff BT flavored. Not BT. I really feel sometimes they should drop the BT ness so they can just make MekTekbots: When big things fight, and it would probably be awesome.

Than they could make it commercial and earn some cash.

Sounds like an awesome plan. Not even saying about added possibilities that come out of this (new weapons, new electronics, new ideas for combat and so on), instead of just adding their own stuff into the MW4, or creating something weird in SAT.

BTW: I wonder: if they'll include the Conjurer ever in this project - will it be the BT one or the MW4 one....

MW4. Someone clearly had a thing for the MW4 models. The just can't seem to get enough of them. I even had the argument fly my way of "well, someone took the time to create it, so we can't just throw them away"
...
Do you have any clue whatsoever how long it takes to make a new mech in the FIRST place? Longer than a model. Lol. Much longer.

But yeah, the folks over at Mechtech are creative and innovative definitely. I really feel that they need to branch out and do their thing, rather than hold onto the BT universe like a crutch as they do currently. They have become great game designers in their own right, I think they have outgrown their mod training wheels and are ready to play the developer game.

That being said, the MWLL is more than ready to pick up the BT legacy, and take it further than any professional game developer has done in 20 years. So, it is not like BT's going anywhere.
