New Graphics Card for MWLL?

So this is the stup I'm currently running MWLL. With but it seems like it can't cope with it's blasting beauty, so I figured to get a new graphics card when I get some money. Just to be sure I wanted to ask if it is actually the graphics card that leads to less then 20fps on Clearcut at sundown (DX10 of course) and not the processor or Ram. Any thoughts?

Maybe the XFX ATI Radeon HD5770 or ATI FirePro V4800?

Go for 5770 with 1GB RAM it has a lower consumption of electricity iirc. The FirePro series is mainly used by 3D Graphic artist. And upgrade your CPU if it is possible on your Motherboard.

Q9400 is socket 775, meaning you can upgrade to Q9650 for example.
Which is a nice Powerhouse with 4x3GHz and 12Megs of Cache.
Together with a 57xx Card, this should allow you to enjoy the game.

Just ran CPU-Z to see what's causeing the low fps and I only have around 45% of my 4 cores in use when playing Marshes so I guess upgrading my CPU won't be necessary.

Other than that, isn't the Crysis Engine optamized for Nvidia? Just looked at the GTX460 and it seems wot be pretty efficient as well.

I don't think that the temperature is the problem, my CPU is at around 70° ând my GPU at 60° when I play Crysis.

I would hold off on a purchase for a week, AMD has a new line coming out very soon. Might as well see what they can do before spending cash on soon-to-be-last-gen hardware.

edit: As far as wars being better, I doubt it. Check out http://www.anandtech.com/show/2702/19 where you can see that clock speed is still more important than cores, and that's at a relatively low resolution/detail setting. Raise the resolution and settings, and CPU matters even less as you start becoming GPU limited.

I'm quite seriously on that.

Try this. First Boot up Crysis and go into any of the remnant servers that are heavily populated (if NoobHunters still has their server up for Crysis, I highly recommend those) and tell me how fun the raping is. Next do the same for WARS and tell me the difference

Oh and feel free to look for any of the usual suspects, they are quite easy to spot

Well, I'll tell you to get a card that's actually noticeably faster than what you have now, if possible. The 5770 isn't. A 5850 or a GTX460 is.

The HD4850 is hardly adequate unless you stay on low settings. The HD5850 is one of the best cards for Crysis for the dollar amount. The new Nvidea 460GTX is not as fast but it is considerably cheaper than the 5850 (Gamestop selling 1GB versions for $169 after rebate). If you want to economize you can pick up a used 275GTX or 280GTX for about $125- $150 and get outstanding performance at high/medium settings.
