1kw?  :o What else are you running besides the 8800s?

I got an 850w for my gtx 275 and even oc'd my i7, and I still feel like I have too much juice left over, really a 750w should do unless you've got 3+ hard drives, tons of ram, or 3-way SLI.

People who don't know any better regularly suggest a PSU four times the size actually needed. Also having 3+ hard drives or "tons of RAM" has very little impact on PSU requirements. HDDs use around 20 watts during spinup then settle down to (generally) less than 10. RAM varies, but expect under 10w per 2GB.

I ran an overclocked 9800GX2 with an E6750, 3 HDDs, 4 sticks of RAM, and 5 fans... On a cheapo Antec 450w PSU.

Thx for the advice all. Looks like I'll get the 5770 and use my original power supply. Then I don't need to figure out how to mount a new PSU :P

You won't necessarily see a huge increase in performance, but you won't be disappointed - it's an excellent card for its price, and it'll handle MWLL at 1440x900 easily.

Thx fro your help all. Got new HD5770 installed and played some MWLL without killing my PC. Had to ditch the DVI to analogue converter (have switch for 2 pc's) currently, but will try to get that looking nicer later.

In game graphics look good although it didn't default everything to very high this time :P

Looking forward to next patch!
