Well, I wouldn't mind if you gave it back the SRM6 (3 missile tubes per thigh). This was the original Mk1 variant before CBT nerfed a lot of Clan mechs to make it easier on the Spheroids ::) Since Clan LRMs in MWLL are useless at short range anyway, this would also kind of restore the close-range firepower.
And if it still sucks so much and you absolutely just can't help but screwing with established and loved variants, I would probably ok with replacing the LBX10 with a 20. Just don't give it anything else, especially not lasers.

It'll be interesting how they build variants for it when you consider they have similar builds between the MadCat and the Loki.
If the Timby and Hellbringer had more distinguished and unique variants, this problem wouldn't exist ;)

Oh it is quite alright most of us clanners have resigned ourselves to the fact that the IS has no proper values when fighting and honor is something only upheld by our worthy foes in the DCMS...until they started to fight under Hohiro and Theodore...the original mechwarriors of the DCMS old guard died with honor, now the new DCMS can fight and die or fight and live but either way it it is a shameful shadow of its former glory.

Stay you fingers for the firing of weapons brother. Most of these freeborn scum do not even have enough honor to align themselves with a proper house, but rather choose to go where the creds are the highest. It seems in our original exodus that skilled warriors and proper tech were not the only things that left with us. This just proves that we must strengthen our resolve and eradicate what we have found here.

...snip

I agree about adding back the thigh SRMs.  If it packed 2 SRM 4's to deal with BA's and for added short range weapons it think it would be ideal in MWLL.

Well variants for Clan mechs tend to be, a well rounded mech, long range config, short range config, specialist config (ie lot of electronics).  The Thor will help fill the gap the clans have for a heavy jumper, that the IS has the Cata and Thanny for.

Agreed that most clan primes suffer from the LRM issue. Its not an easy thing to fix though I would say. Variants like the LRM boat Vulture might be abit... well yeah... if its missiles had close range capabilities. Not saying it can't be done. Just saying introducing proper clan LRMs require some thinking and not just doing.

Now for something completely off topic:

SJs you mad?  Why don't you bomb something from orbit :P

Reexamine that. Turtle Bay. This was nothing but an attempt to curb the turtle aids in its cradle, before this tragic disease had a chance to spread...

/Merf - Have to agree the IS did one thing right; the RACs.

Sadly it must be true, with the respresentation here in this venue for warfare I see only one house present and it makes me want to use my removed tear ducts that it had to be House Davion (jk Checker you know we love you guys) I just wish that one unit would have the balls to face our might in honorable combat...and die the same way ;D

Since the Summoner is my all-time favorite mech I must post on this thread. I also think it would be okay if the devs replaced the lbx10 with a lbx20 and the leg-srms would be a nice added feature. Really the biggest thing i want from my baby is the 360 degree torso twist  ;D. Mechs with the 360 twist are not common enough

The Thor does need a variant around the Gauss, do the clans have access to Heavy Gauss?

Hmmn. I do like having 360 torso twist, but I definitely don't want it becoming too common. It removes a bit skill. It is true though I guess that you more frequently move in a direction you are not looking so situational awareness skill becomes even more important, but still. That "blindspot" behind mechs need to be a factor. But yes, one more mech with 360 torso twist can't hurt. ;)

must... resist....

^^

Thor (Summoner) Prime
- CERPPC RA
- CLB10X LA
- CLRM15 LT
- Jump Jets
- 4 Double Heat Sinks
- 2 free tons (because all weapons come with a free ton of ammo in MWLL)

Thor (Summoner) A
- CLPL RA
- CGauss LA
- CSSRM6 LT
- Jump Jets
- 4 Double Heat Sinks
- 2 free tons (because all weapons come with a free ton of ammo in MWLL)

Now, if we follow the MWLL trend and remove the extra heat sinks from the engine and put it toward pod space, we can see the following changes.

Thor (Summoner) Prime
- CERPPC RA
- CLB20X LA
- CLRM15 LT
- CSRM4 RL
- CSRM4 LL
- Jump Jets
- 2 free tons

Thor (Summoner) A
- CLPL RA
- CGauss LA
- CSSRM6 LT
- CSSRM4 RL
- CSSRM4 LL
- Jump Jets
- 2 free tons

Indeed. This sounds very promising.

A wide array of weapons, typical for the Summoner? Check
Heat only minor trouble? Check
Jumpjets? Check
Maneuverable? Remains to be seen (oh noes its too good lets rip out the reactor and make an abomination that only runs 75kph!)

Beautiful and glorious Steiner tech, I'd like to add.  ;D

As much as I like the Thor prime, I do fear that it might be a bit underpowered in comparison with other, similar weighted mechs. Maybe give it a LBX 20 instead?

No, but Clanners have the Hyper-Assault Gauss which is basically a giant 16 ton shotgun and is capable of doing 40 damage (HGR does 25) in the boardgame.
