cool story... felt almost like an amalgamation of BattleTech and Warhammer40K with the description of the Chaosy portals and creature...I liked it.... but man...  sequal ?
lol what happened to the message Muriel sent at the end... any1 ever get it ?(is that why we r reading it ?) what happened to the creature, was it stuck on that dark planet for good ? Was that one of what happens when a jumpship gets "lost" during a misjump lol ?   (sorry.. couldnt help myself.. good literature draws me into it lol - the ending was cool though, so dont mind my questions lol)
Nice Work Mat :)

Matthew that was amazing! I just read Mountains of Madness earlier this week and I think you stayed true to form my friend. An excellent addition to the horror genre and to Battletech as a whole!

Horrortech.

Haven't read the story yet (will as soon as work lets me) but just had to comment on the quoted word above. There is an RPG called Cthulhutech actually. The setting is made of win, but the rules seem to not properly support the story driven aspect.

Ty, ty. If you liked that. please check out Falcon Rising, or I am Jade Falcon by Robert Thurston & Friends (I'm the "friends") I still get a 10th of a penny from each book sold. Lol.

Anyways, above all, PLEASE donate to MWLL, every bit you contribute shows the development team that you actually care, regardless of how many X is overpowered posts you make  :D

Matt's off practicing for a GRE atm. I can answer your question wilson. From what he told me. Azathoth was sealed in the dark planet when they closed the portals (which warhammer stole from Lovecraft, not the other way around btw much of the way you encounter monsters in the lovecraft universe is by being pulled through a portal like in the Silver Key by H.P. Lovecraft. Matthew was playing with the story by having it be backwards, since they traveled to the dark world, and could see the portals to earth in inverse. )

The message he sent is what you are reading. There will be at some point a scenario pack that you and your friends can play where you will go to the planet to try and uncover what happened to the crew of the Archimedes it's just pending some tweaking to allow the nightmare creatures into CBT's 4.0 ruleset and the fact that no one makes CBT scenarios anymore (Catalyst is more a fan project then FASA) but all the old Scenario people stay in touch, to expect a release sometime in the near future to play!

Also, Matthew's nodding, I can say all this, its non NDA. Matt says he will put up the files somewhere here for your enjoyment. They are going to try to make it a megamech capable thing.
