Azathoth was sealed in the dark planet when they closed the portals (which warhammer stole from Lovecraft, not the other way around btw much of the way you encounter monsters in the lovecraft universe is by being pulled through a portal like in the Silver Key by H.P. Lovecraft. Matthew was playing with the story by having it be backwards, since they traveled to the dark world, and could see the portals to earth in inverse. )

There will be at some point a scenario pack that you and your friends can play where you will go to the planet to try and uncover what happened to the crew of the Archimedes it's just pending some tweaking to allow the nightmare creatures into CBT's 4.0 ruleset and the fact that no one makes CBT scenarios anymore (Catalyst is more a fan project then FASA) but all the old Scenario people stay in touch, to expect a release sometime in the near future to play!
