Hi, lurker here waiting for 4.0.

Speaking from my personal experience, I typically play the hell out of MWLL whenever a patch comes out. Then after a week or two I get bored, in the past it has mainly been due to there only being a team deathmatch mode. Which even then lacks focus and feels more like a test mode to play around with the mechs. I'm hoping the new game mode(s) will alleviate this and spark more competitive interest.

I think it will be quite busy for quite some time once it looses the beta tags. For now, we are all kind of worn out of the TDM repetitiveness, If in fact the leagues do adopt this, then MW:LL will enjoy a loooooooonnnngggg stay. I think that will be key though: Getting the leagues on board.

What leagues? The game is solid enough to be in a league environment now and it is in a ladder league but the ladder will only carry it so far. The servers are a pain to manage and setting the matches up for 3 minute ladder duals is a detrement to expanding the player base by word of mouth. The planetary league (s) will provide longevity but I fear those leagues are yet to be developed and when .4 makes it's debut it will take TIME to work out the details and get an infrastructure in place. We can only hope the casual gamer (points chasers) stay long enough to get hooked on the competition of leagues for the real deal release of 1.0

Like lexwolf said, it's harmless. I mean, consider the options. Wiki and forum? Any exposure to those places is good for the player base. Donate? Hell yeah.

What leagues? The game is solid enough to be in a league environment now and it is in a ladder league but the ladder will only carry it so far.

From my personal experience, MWLL is not really ready for serious league play. CTDs, disconnects, spawning with no money, stucking in a hangar walls, spontaneous death on entering a mech: you name it. Sure, it's not a huge issue with 1vs1 ladder deathmatches, but as long as you want to have 10vs10, the real troubles begin. As if even one of 20 players have problems, the map has to be restarted, preparations for one single battle could take from 30 minutes up to an hour. And it's just one match of 3(or even 5 for championship finals).

Now we, forum regulars, who who constitute the majority of FCL, are ok with this(well, not exactly ok, but we can tolerate this) but if that would be the first impression of MWLL, I doubt any BT league would change it's battle engine any time soon... IMO, MWLL still a couple of releases away from being good enough for public BT leagues.

*bugs snip*

I'm still convinced that most of the issues we were having were server-related. People were spontaneously exploding as BA and moving through walls/floors WAY more often than is normal in full pub games. Still, for other reasons, I'm inclined to agree that the mod isn't quite there yet, and IMO neither is FC:LA.

Yes. I expect another boost in players with the new patch. With now 5 repeases so far we have always seen the same development in player activity. It will be interestin to see how many will stick around when we finally remove that beta flag ;)

I will be around since it looks like the MW reprise will be on slock box and the members of «Çߧ» with me, also considering NBT is looking at setting up a MWLL planetary league if all goes well. With what y'all have posted as play test shots it looks to me as the sky is the limit for MWLL. Thanks for making such a beautiful mod.

+Thanks!!!

Sorry, for late reaction - heavy weeks, didn't had time to play - horrible.
Yes. There is a Link. Real, no fake: I didn't notice him -because of no button- until yet.
The main part is an other, we must think from the side of the user (you can say "customer" to it).
With EVERY Step/click, you will loose round about 33 to 50Percent of your traffic. (...many years Experience in processings like that...)
Giving an example: If we want to give the User the Idea of DONATION, he had to find/see it EASILY.
There is no real chance, that a lot of the user will see the normal homepage link, using that link, seeing the mwll-homepage, AND (the "AND" is the main part) will click the Donation Button after his first informationoverhead at that point.
Therefore, to extend the launcher cost nothing, will give -AT HIGH LEVEL- relevant KeyFacts (there is a forum, there is..., there is..) and can generate nice possibility's.

The Mod need's YOU - Did you DONATE?

I sincerely do not wish to flood the user with unneeded data on the Launcher itself. If there should be any changes the site link could be bigger or alternatively have the top title be a link itself.

For the Wiki link I'd rather have an additional tab (with f.ex. Wiki frontpage, MWLL-Install Guide etc as links) in the top bar on this site, though that will automalically direct the Member away from this site, which, imho, for any sane marketing person is unwanted. And we do have a Knowledge DB exactly for the install procedure, though that one seriously needs an update.
