I generally agree with the consensus that the game is not worth the plastic it was wrapped in, but that video is a whole different ball of trash. There is a difference between flaws and just nitpicking crap. That was nitpicking. Its a bunch of crap. Hurp derp derp.
That is not 'nitpicking'. That is the frustration that comes from buying a $60USD first person
SHOOTER, only to discover that, not only is it less of a game than its predecessors, but it does not even require much in the way of interaction in many of its repetitive, annoyingly linear, and ridiculous missions. What we spent 60 bucks on is a much-hyped, well-polished turd.
And to think the developers all claimed to have hired 'people who did this sort of mission in real life' as advisors. Apparently, firing a sniper rifle should sound like banging your fist on a table. Apparently, hiding and letting your buddies take all the fire/do all the shooting is what the professionals do. Somehow I doubt they were telling the truth.
Also, am I the only one who felt embarassed about that takeoff scene? The way that aircraft sustained that much fire (much of it at point-blank range from AA units), lost an engine, suffered a collision between its wing and numerous telephone poles, and yet went from ~30mph to takeoff speed in less than 5 seconds while you go all Rambo on the ground with that turret? That stuff, coupled with this zombie crap, tells me this game was never taken seriously by its developers...I wish I had known that before I bought it. That will teach me to buy games so soon after their release.
I would love to see someone mod this game into what it should have been. As it is, though, this game was simply the best marketing scam of the year. Hopefully, the next one will at least include a decent game.
