We already had custom particles but now they are custom custom particles ;) And shush KingLeer! Don't tell them! :P

I would also like to mention that those settings are the ones found in the Advanced settings for Particle quality. You can keep it all at the max but if you decide to drop some eye candy in favor for some more FPS (e.g. in intense combat) then this is the setting for you.

FPS boosts? W00t! This means that team fights and full servers aren't going to kill me so much. Yay! I<3U guys :)
..., but this is battletech, and sense is often not made.

What's with the rainclouds in the mech hangar? :)

Also I hope the capture radius for points is a lot bigger than picture 1 suggests - otherwise that's just asking for artillery spam. I'd suggest the whole 'area' (such as, in that case, within the walls) be the point, but that could just be a visual mark too.

@Frost, you do know that base LAMS do stop Tom shells as well right? They're also indestructible unless something has changed in 040.

We're going to have anti-Long Tom turrets around every point? That sounds kinda counter to the purpose of a Long Tom.

The capture bases do not have anti-LT turrets at them.

The capture zones are delineated by the blue marker beacons (several seen in that image) that surround the capture area.  It is large enough and generally has enough cover to ameliorate any LT camping tactics.

Why be afraid of small capture zone? Even if it's small, it's not like you have to always stand there, just long enough to capture it.

I don't get the FPS numbers . .
The two examples given on the main page inicate that there are LESS FPS now? O.o
'any kind of discussion of randomness ALWAYS WILL EQUATE to being able to critically hit a mech's reactor by firing a micro beam laser while facing 80 degrees to the side, shooting the ground, which would cause a random explosion which would randomly crit his entire team's reactors which would randomly cause the server itself to explode which would randomly generate a strange quark which would randomly hit the earth and randomly randomness randomfapp the shit fapp random!'

To clarify:
These are the FPS numbers before the Particles is fired and while the particle is played. Basically what we want there is a very low difference in FPS drops (see CERPPC) compared to the FPS while NOT playing the particle.
I compared the particles in VeryHigh and Low settings and wrote down the difference in FPS drops. There is always going to be a difference but in case of the CERPPC you can see easily that it performs way better when setting it to low.

Cheers,
Seraph

Hah, that is not really understandable from the original post... perhaps the numbers should be accompanied by a short explanation?

Anyway, great stuff, should help a lot of people.
