Yep, consoles are dominating. Yet, as I see more and more industrial-grade indie games and mods, I'm not worried about PC gaming dieing out. On the contrary, I can hope for games as good as Fallout 2 or Morrowind being created in the future entirely "by gamers, for gamers". MWLL and a lot of other excellent projects, registred on moddb and indiedb are good examples of that.

This is something that makes me very happy and very sad at the same time.

Most of the games I played the last 2 or 3 years were indie games, mods, retail games that started as such and "evolved" to a full game, or retrogames that I dug up somewhere. (MWLL, Mount and Blade, Dwarf Fortress for example). This can be either a sign that mods/indie games became extremely good the last few years, or that most of the recent "normal" games suck. (or at least are worse then games produced many years ago)

Never arm once what you could arm twice.

In Lyran Commonwealth, Atlas scouts you.

Not really worse but they have different target audience(much more casual gamers) in mind.
