Please, give us a full download

I lreally love your work on this mod but why have you to force a check if Crysis is installed via that small 1.7 MB installer?

There are still many people which have a slow internet connection (like me), so I can just download the mod from other computers which have no Crysis installed. A full download from here would take me DAYS from my current position.

Conclusion: A FULL download of the mod with no install-check (as it always was the case before) would be much appreciated!

We might make an unofficial hint how to get the large update even without the installer. The idea is we are making sure that people have Wars or Crysis installed already to avoid posts like 'can i run mwll without xy' or 'game isnt working at all' which are sure to come

For now be patient. We need this updater to work and having people use it is he best test we get to fix all remaining bugs.

can't you just have a dialog box that says, "Are you sure you have Crysis [Warhead/Wars] installed? This is a mod for Crysis [Warhead/Wars] and will only run if you have it installed."

btw, can't you just make "crysiswars.txt" and rename the extension to get it to work?

Just an observation, but if your connection is taking several days to download 2.2GB, how would this same connection ever be able to support a reasonable online gaming experience?

don't forget that the auto updater is a torrent client as well, and that it will save your progress if you have to leave.  You don't have to download it all in one seating

Oh, that's easy. I have very decent pings with my connection, that's not the issue. Still I need tons of time to download. Also, I want to be able to use the internet in the meanwhile (by stopping the download from time to time).

Edit: Oh at least I can pause that thing... yay.

when i used the launcher, with the box <auto check for updates> checked, it didnt dload the hotfix, game came up as 4.0 again.

It only checks every 12 hours. Hit Check for updates on the buttom to force a check.

One of the reasons why the DL speeds are faster in a uTorrent type program is that there NO throttle on the upload speed in the given app. You're choking your return packets which is causing some of the slow speed. I would imagine adding a preset throttle, say 30%, to the AutoUpdater would greatly increase the DL speed.

I ran the repair utility this morning after I messed up the hotfix patch and I'm pretty sure I saw the autoupdater as one of the files the repair utility removed. Might want to look into it.

I'll probably have to re-download everything too.

Look in your Update folder, in mwll/update/ the entire 0.4.0 should be there in a zip file. You can extract the Updater or other files as needed from that file.

Only if you checked the box in the downloader to save 0.4.0, right? Because I didn't, and I don't have any update folder.
