Marauder, Locust, Warhammer.

The 3025 stock loadouts is part of what made the marauder and warhammer so flippin cool.  They were rock solid designs, compared to other mechs of the time.  Most mechs were poorly designed in 3025, with oversized engines, undersized engines, too much armor, too little armor, too much heat generation, too little heat generation, too much reliance on one type of weapon, or too many diverse weapons..  Etc etc...  Marauder and Warhammer just landed squarely in that Goldylocks zone in all respects.

Locust I just liked because of it's central role in Decision at Thunder Rift, and because it looks sweet.
Ugh so hard to choose.
I'm going to say Marauder.

My favorite mech of all time has to be the thor. With it's omni racks, it's so easy to customize, and it looks really cool.

Other mechs I like from each class include the owens(light), blackhawk(medium), and daishi(assault).

Diashi

Just having the translated name of Great Death is just cool enough, but its just cool looking. Its armed to the team and can stack double heatsinks like crazy for major heat builds. Pcc stack ftw.

I love the Cauldron Born - such a mean looking mech! And of course the ShadowCat has to get a mention here too.

Although in terms of gameplay, the Thanatos is quickly becoming one of my favorite mechs.

Back in the day I piloted a Warhammer, However my choice is a Thanatos a solid all around mech with decent speed, power, and survivability and when with a good pilot can wreak havoc on the battlefield.

I know this is old, just got Crysis to play this. I've been waiting and checking off and on for years...I seriously almost self combusted upon leaving the hanger bay for the first time.

StormCrow(A)-First mech I piloted in MW2 as a Jade Falcon
BlackLanner(prime)-Basically same as SC
Adder(prime&C)
Kitfox(C)-Also from MW2

Clan JF ftw

Edit: forgot Hellbringer for a Heavy choice

Personally, I like to go with some of the older, less know 'mechs. For example.

The COM 2-D Commando. With 6 SRM ports in it's chest, hands usable for climbing on a heavier mech and giving a crushing blow, and weighing in at only 25 tons, makes it a prime recon class mech.

But if you want a heavier mech? I would say the Grasshopper. A 70 ton mech with Jump Jets, and an array of laser-type weps. This is my mech of choice.

But then comes the Axeman. Who needs ammo, WHEN YOU HAVE A MASSIVE AXE IN YOUR MECH'S HANDS?!??!?!?! Able to rip arms or of mechs and what not with one blow, I would like to see this mech in MWLL. It wouldn't really be OP either, just a nice mech that you can shoot at. (But if you miss your a gonner)

I never liked the whole melee combat aspect of BT, besides ramming and using jumpjets to land on.  Can't nail exactly what it is.. maybe too 'Gundam' like.

Thanks ARES. :)

And Dalmp, you hit the nail right on the head. Diversity is the name of the game for 3025 battletech and the Zeus fits right in there with the iconic Warhammer and Marauder. At 80 tons she's on the light side of the Assault class, but had speed enough to keep up with the main battle line without slowing them down, and a diverse array of weapons useful in all situations. At range she can open up with the LRM-15, or lend some support with indirect barrages. As ranges close she can bring to bear an AC/5 (or a PPC if you want the later version), and then a Large Laser. When the enemy gets in close a Medium Laser can hammer in some solid extra damage. Anything that gets behind it there is a rear firing Medium Laser to worry about. Armor protection is moderate for the weight, and on par with the Marauder. She also carries enough heat sinks to blaze away happily indefinitely. The Zeus is my namesake for a reason. Solid design, interesting built in flaws, but any good mech should have some character flaws.

I have to agree, I never liked the thought of wildly flinging arms...but ramming and from above attacks are all good...I.e. Eryie and GyrFalcon

I too like some of the more obscure ones but good luck ever getting to pilot those...
