TC Kagoshima
« on: December 30, 2010, 04:10:07 PM »
I have a GTX 570, and this map takes my machine and beats it until it cries.  I get like 25 FPS on it

Anyone else have this issue?

:)

I love the map though, very pretty, I love the terrain and fighting in the vertical!

I hate Aircraft in this game, if I die from one, I leave.  I wish I could just fire back at them from a Mech.

My computer cries on this map as well. It's all the trees, water, and clouds.  :(
Granted, I don't get very high FPS; ~40ish on all low settings on other maps, but Kagoshima is basically unplayable for me if there's more than like 10 players.

It's a very pretty map with some interesting gameplay possibility with JJ mechs, but damn that aero runway is tiny. I can't land in it at all, I always end up landing at around 60kph and smashing into the rear, or taking damage from high speed.  :-\

Yep that map is pretty hard on machines - but well worth it. For me it's also my fav map in TC right now :D

My framerate is awful on Kagoshima, but usually playable if I'm not flying. It looks spectacular though!  :o

I guess I'm lucky that I can have it playable on very high.  The map is very beautiful; it reminds me of old chinese paintings.

Got an NVidia GTS 250 and receive ~30 fps at very high settings. I consider Frostbite to be harder on machines than Kagoshima. No need to say that, same as deathvalley, it is an incredibly beautiful map.

For people having frame rate issues on the map, I would be curious to know what they're profile 6 output looks like. Which areas of the game are causing the issue. My guess would be texture memory.

My machine crawls at that area were the water is on sort of a "stepped" plateu with the river next to it.  Other areas on the map run fine, but that area just browbeats my machine to submission.

Try to put the water effects on a lower level, they are a bit resource intensive in Crysis.

now ask yourself, why this statement makes no sense......a GTS250 which is a fairly low end card now (its just a renamed 9800GTX).....plays all very high ~30fps but the guy with a GTX570, pretty much high end recent hardware....is getting unacceptable frames...???

i need to try it on my system and see, Frostbite plays fine on all very high on mine......

also, when comparing performance at the same settings, you have to include resolution......because a GTS250 may very well be able to pull that off at 1024x768 but the GTX570 may have been trying to do it at 1920x1080.....huge difference in pixels being pushed

Once again, you guys should take profile 6 or profile 1 in the console for a spin if you are having bad framerates. If you see something spiking, then let us know.
