« on: January 01, 2011, 07:02:09 PM »
Hi,
first a very big THANKS for giving the community Palisade. (And a special thank to Salvatoris).
Had found a nice Tunnel for BAs only.
Have a look ;-)

If only a server would RUN this map... all I see is Death Valley, Kagoshima, and a little bit of TC_Marshes and TC_ThunderRift.

I remember there being other tunnels as well.

Hell I didn't even know about the mineshaft on Mirage until the other day :) It made me wish for an entire indoor area like that.

Whoa what? I think I'm gonna have to look around on the maps now...

I think the mineshaft is only there in the TC version.
Also on Palisades: That got fixed? yay!
I remember when i went into that tunnel, went for minutes . . just to come to a closed off section and had to leg it all the way back <.<

There is only TSA_Palisades, which is definitely in the rotation on our Mechwars2 (TSA) and probably on others too.

Perfect map for Aerospace, but alas no luck here. :(

That tunnel (and the other one) has always been on that map.

Right now, it's the perfect map for LRM Camping.
ON BOTH SIDES.
LongTomming is a bit harder.

It depends on where the fight is taken. It doesn't need to be a long range stand-off, the clan-side plateau is easily invaded via the right side and it provides enough terrain features to block off LRMs.

Well, somehow the fight allways takes place where the mountain on one side of the river/sea is looking down on the other base in the distance.
Because there's water with steep cliffs blocking brawlers from getting to the LRM-Spam bases. Long Tomming just does not happen on that map usually.
Also, it's REALLY seldom that something with a NARC or TAG is coming along. It's really the good old stand and deliver between boats O.o

Hm, i've only had a stand-off at those positions once from the IS side and it wasn't pretty. Afterward i (mostly brawler) started taking the fight up onto the plateau and ask for flanking support if needed.
Given the flanking paths both left and right it seemed to work well enough :)

Oh, before i forget it: Thanks to Salvatoris from me as well for a new map with a unique feel.

Yah, even though it's mostly LRM volley when i see it being played, at least there are no aero assets around.
furthermore, there is a tunnel that leads from the base to the river on both sides. But it's much more usefull for one side than the other.
