Bout friggin time.....XP is just such a wreck compared to win 7.  Glad some developers are able to finally leave a 10 year old OS behind and move forward.

Come on guys....over and over I'm reading crash reports in the forums for MWLL that all are running XP.  You have to embrace what's good.  What if Thomas Edison said "meh.....I don't see anything wrong with lighting torches....I don't feel like upgrading...."  and then threw away the opportunity to move forward.....

And please don't quote cost......I think when you amortize that $100 you paid for XP over the last 10 years we can agree you got the goody out of it.  And your system, if it needs an upgrade to run Win7 then you can smile knowing you will also have a more enjoyable MWLL experience.

I'm not made of money....I got my Win7 from an online promotion during the win7 launch, just by being on the lookout.  And I only do a PC upgrade maybe every 5 or so years.....and I don't buy top of the line.   I'm just saying...just like there's no reason to stick with Crysis instead of Wars, there's also no reason to stick with XP when you have the wonderfully successful Win7.

Echoing you on upgrading to Win7 over XP.

Got my Alienware m11x with Win7 on it and I slowly started to hate XP on my desktop, until I upgraded that about a month ago.  If you keep an eye out, it's really not too expensive.  Just don't buy it retail, total rip off, OEM is good.

If you lose 25fps you got issues and its not Win 7's fault.  Windows 7 actually can boost performance.......you have obviously been mislead.....because every gamer with a halfway decent pc are experiencing better performance with Win7.  That's just pure ignorant to say Silk because its not true at all.

So what hardware would lose 25fps by simply upgrading to a faster operating system pray tell, ye who hasn't even tried it yet.

Yep.  That's because when you compare apple to apples, DX9 to DX9 but on XP vs. Win 7 the faster OS will speed things up. Any framerate drops associated with moving to Win7 is a result of having DX10 come into play.  This has nothing to do with Windows7. 

Ill tell you where it comes from.  It come from people who are not informed about PC hardware, who have an older weak system who think all they need to do is buy that new GTX240(very weak by the way) at bestbuy to boost their game performance.  Sure they get a boost.  They are using a newer DX10 video card for DX9 gaming because they are still on windows XP.  Then when they upgrade to Windows 7 because everyone says its faster, but they don't upgrade the PC, they get worse performance because all of a sudden they are trying to run next Gen OS on last Gen hardware and now all of a sudden because Win7 uses DX10 by default you get worse performance.  This is because DX10 absolutely kills the GTX240.  And because the rest of the system can't even keep up with Win7 well, its even worse........

Then they go around saying things like "upgrading to Win7 will only kill your gaming performance" and brag about the bug ridden slow XP is faster.......shit man, I can run the hell out of Windows98 and Netmech.....so what...do I tell people gaming on Windows98 is faster than Win7?  Heck no.....

Man....it just eats me up when people talk smack about something they don't know about.

Well....spending more on the OS than you did on the PC would be fairly ignorant.  I would suggest upgrading the hardware so it can run well.  If you had read my post you would have understood that.  If kicking me in the face makes you feel better about being irrational then by all means, kick away....lol

Why is it so many PC gamers claim broke when someone tells them how to speed up their system but when they go out and spend $200 on a part that barely helps they get all whiny about it. 

PC gaming takes a PC guys.  If you want to run one of the most demanding games around, it makes sense that you need a PC capable of playing the game.  These aren't consoles.  Game developers don't dumb down games for PC's like they do for consoles.  You have to actually spend some money upgrading from time to time to keep up.  I'm not made of money...I only get to upgrade every 5 years or so.....I'm just tired of seeing all the people with age old computers running 10 year old OSes complaining about issues when they refuse to move past the year 2000.

I feel like I walked into a room full of a bunch of old women saying "my black and white TV shows Oprah just fine!  Why would I want to buy a new TV?"

It had to happen sooner or later right......jeez...why is the idea of upgrading a PC such a nightmare to so many people here.

I'm a computer geek....if you want help picking out parts I can point you to good info.....its all I do when not playing MWLL.    That offer is good to any of you.....when you finally decide to make your gaming more enjoyable.

Sorry if I pissed you guys off somehow....just excited to see developers want to move forward even if some people aren't.

And why would I want to pay money to "improve" my system when the only thing hindering me from properly enjoying this game is the crappy internet-connection in my area?
How am I supposed to improve high latency? I can't exactly tell my ISP to improve their cables...
Especially since the biggest issue is my distance to the servers...
(I live in germany, and most servers are in the US)

(I can tell them of course, but will they listen?)

Also I AM broke.  I lost my Job a year ago, and noone wants to hire a girl for what I learned... :(
