Any Chromehounds players still around?
« on: January 05, 2011, 09:54:50 AM »
I used to play this game WAY too much back in the day (high school), so I was wondering if anyone else from that community made their way here.  My old gamertag is the same name I use here, and if anyone ever fought me in battle, I was probably with the Grudge Knights, as they were the only serious PvP squad I ever played with.

Pity SEGA killed the online servers.  Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of them going down. Rest in peace.

Prodigal son my ass.

I played Chromehounds a lot. Most of the time I was playing team unlimited matches, and occasionally some of the war. I preferred to run hunter/killer or fast attack hounds that were loosely defined as soldier hounds. I still have my disc just in case sega sees how stupid they have been and brings it back (probably won't happen though :'().
There is no kill like overkill.

I used to play a bit. Nothing major but it was fun. I preferred a sniper mech myself.

I played it and I loved it - when it was working.

Why does SEGA like to throw months of work away like that...?

Wish they and From Software would try to expand into the PC market and just port all their old mecha titles. 'Course, it's probably not as easy as it seems...

I got my friends and I into it last December, and *then* found out we had less than a month left before the servers would get shut down.  We played the hell out of it for 3 weeks, then... well, every once in a while I boot it up and play through the training missions again.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!1!!!!1!!
~ my heart aches from the lack of CN-300's in all other games  :'(   As many of my friends and family know, when SEGA killed chromehounds, they killed a part of me.   Chromehounds afterlife will never be the same, it was just like lego's hyped up on speed  ;D
ANYWAYS... old wound re-opened.   Im going to play some TC, and then go to bed...

I had this four legged sniper mech with the eight strongest sniper cannons in the game and a top speed so slow that the match would end before I got into position

Oh, and it only had 4 rounds in each gun :o

And that good sir, was a lightweight SABER sniper cannon with only three shots before you were out :)  ... but damn if it wasnt devestating!
~i really should let sleeping dogs lie... maybe MWLL can replace that dead spot in my heart left by Chromehounds?
