75 is actually pretty low for a GPU.

GPUs are a lot more hardy than CPUs. They're designed to operate at blistering temperatures. Mid-90C is usually the edge of the comfort zone.

i5, ATI5850HD, 6GB, Win7 64-bit,  game settings 1920*1080, Best Quality & 2 x AA, 64-bit client, DX10, and no framerate drops in Death Valley here.

downloaded that useful utility and have been running it while playing and after three ctd have noticed something interesting in the gpu usage graph. before each ctd, the gpu graph will usually look like a sine wave with about 4,5 peaks . THe avg percentage is usually around 70 , but these peaks go into the 90% or higher range.
cpu usage and gpu usage are both usually around 80%  or lower.
Just throwin it out there, ill post screen shots .
Also found out via utility that the server list screen is a real bitch, it runs my gpu harder than the game. consistently up in the high 90s.
does that make sense?

Yeah I don't know what's up with that.....mine is running 75% gpu on main menu...then when I go to internet games to see the servers it drops to around 50%.  .

Unfortunately, yes. It's made of Flash.

(I have no idea if that's the real cause or not, but I just can't pass up an opportunity to diss flash :P)

No, it's because the menu is not frame-rate limited. If you'd enable v-sync, it'll cap the rate to your refresh rate instead of running at 150+ fps. Don't forget to enable triple-buffering as well.

No issues on this or any other map - both on my 4850 dual core and 6950 oc'ed DC systems.
