I just want a usable Thor, and by that i mean a mech that is actually good at what its supposed to do, for example Thor A is a brawler but with no extra ammo, the Loki E is also a brawler that is much better but costs more, and the Shadowcat A is the same as the Thor but it has spare ammo, a smaller profile and MASC plus it is about 20k cheaper then the Thor A. This leaves us with the Shadowcat A if we cant afford the Loki E with no advantage to take the Thor A over the Shadowcat A even if you can afford both.

Its nice to get new assets but they need to be useful if you want people to use them.

And now for some ideas of how to improve the Thor:

*Increase the armour so that it is around 7k (make it the middle ground between the Loki and the Warhammer).
*Give all the Thor variants with projectile weapon at least 1 ton of free ammo space so that it does not run out of ammo all the time.
*Fix the weapons loadout, for example the Thor with 1xCguass and 1xLpl is a joke compared to the rest of the heavies (I know that you have stated that changes will be done but please try to avoid doing it this badly the next time you have to push out a new asset, since it really hurts the assets image).

I cant think of anything more before the weapons loadout are improved.

As it is now, you may use the Thor, or not.  One of the best things about MWLL is that you have freedom of choice across 22 'Mechs, and also tanks, hovercraft, aerospace...

And I love being able to have this choice of different assets to use, but I fear that sooner or later we will have assets that will be pointless to use due to other assets being just better at all aspects the first one is meant to be good at, and at the moment the Thor is almost one of those pointless assets so I made this thread to point that out in hope of that it will find its place in game after some fixes.

PS. I better change the topic name before someone comes along and says "do a barrel roll" due to my misspelling of role :P

Not only is the Thor under armored, but the Loki is over armored.

The Loki should have paper thin armor. The entire point of the chassis (as demonstrated by the prime) was to engage via the clan engagement protocol at maximum range and destroy the opponent before they could react (no waste).

The Loki E goes completely against both the clan engagement protocol and the Loki's design philosophy, and yet it excels. That's partially because of how UACs work, but honestly, seeing a Loki E getting into close range should thrill its opponent. At that range a cluster of medium lasers and SRMs should open it up like a tin can. Meanwhile the Loki E should be doing that to its target as well. With all that extra armor it is no wonder why people feel impotent against the Loki E. It packs massive firepower, speed, agility, and more armor that it should be.

The Thor should be the badboy running in with the UAC20 because it has the armor to do it. Hell, that's what the A? Variant has (and it's the canon CBT B variant).

Using the Uziel as a benchmark for 8 tons of armor it would have around 39,000 as opposed to the 41000 it has now. Ouch.

I think the loki's weak enough armour wise as it is personally, you can totally destroy a side torso with 1 alpha from most laser armed madcat loadouts. But yes, the summoner is the in fighter, the loki is more hit and run.

Well... I am not sure, but I noticed that Loki dies a lot quicker than in older versions. Maybe its due to new weapons, hm.
But thot is missing some firepower yes. Well it does not. But when you compare its price and firepower to something else... it does.

I really don't feel they're that weak. When I pilot one, its speed and GECM make it extremely easy to get in and out of battles quickly without overextending yourself.

It is a funny thought though, to consider that a Heavy Gauss used against a Hellbringer in CBT *will* blow it to pieces no matter where it hits. Absolutely no armour values anywhere on it can survive a single shot :D It's supposed to have the armour of a 40T mech (the Adder *almost* matches it, and that's 35T).
