Just so this doesn't get forgotten dec, I'll post here. Your fans have spoken devs: Give lbx ac's improved rof (and ranges past 1000m) to lighter lbx ac's:

Lbx2 1400m range, ac 5 rof
lbx5 1000m range, ac 10 rof
lbx10 700m range, ac 20 rof
lbx20 450m range, lbx20 rof.

why leave lbx20 unchanged? whats wrong with 50% ac20 speed?
Wherever mechs are needed, I am there

I agree.  If LBXs are meant to be the shotguns of the mech world, and provide a similar DPS at a lower RPS to standard autocannon, why not make the LBX-20 fire half as fast as the AC20?  If we assume that there is some range R where a single LBX-20 shot spreads over the same torso areas as, and does similar damage to, an AC20 round shot at the same point (including splash damage), then a single LBX-20 round is doing more total damage.  There should then be some range, say R/2, where the LBX-20 shot will hit only one torso component, doing significantly more damage in one shot.  I'd say a 50% rate-of-fire decrease would be exactly what the doctor ordered, if DPS at range R stays the same for both weapon types.

Now now, let's not start making it sound like a demand. It's completely up to the devs, and to be honest none of us here are experts at game balancing. What sounds great to us as players could actually be awful from a design perspective.

That said, I fully support this. Originally the LBX was one of my most favorite weapons in the game, but I rarely use one anymore, now that I've discovered how ridiculously better almost any AC is by comparison. I'd love to be able to use the LBX variants again without feeling like I intentionally gimped myself.

Ok, I voted no simply because my experience with the LBX Parti, it really doesn't take long for them to reload at all.  But I do think the LBX-2 should fire faster than it does, it is still an AutoCannon.  The larger bores are fine as is, IMHO.

I suck!! But WE are AWESOME.  We started a unit.  What's that?!  YOU WANNA TOUCH MY UNIT?!! :P ^^12thVR Recruitment Page(clickthepic) ;)

+1. Nobody is saying the LBX is pants-on-head retarded but as far as the "super-huge-ballistic-weapons" go, the only real use it has is instagibbing ASFs. That's lame :/ Against everything else, the terrible ROF and laughably questionable applications of sub-20 calibers leaves it feeling more like a Heavy Weapon than an Assault Weapon.

higher ROF for LBX 2 and 5 would be good, cause the partisan with LBX 5 is a slow rolling joke on the field. if you just can lay a stream of rounds in chain fire it would be okay.

like the LBX 5 on the uller ... 2 ssrm6 would do more dmg i bet

In 0.4.4 it looks like they halved the recycle rate of the LBX-5, but it seems its damage against Aerospace (or all?) is much lower to compensate for its higher ROF. Usually in the twin LBX-5 Sulla I could take down enemy Sulla's in 3-4 bursts, but now it takes twice as long.

No change to the LBX-10 though.

I like the faster firing LBX5s, but without similarly increased ammo levels they run dry too fast. Halved fire rate and still only 40 shots? Eeeh. Seems a bit out of line with the other LBXs.

yeah ... the fire rate is a bit too slow for my tast (chain fire should be the hell with 4 of that) and more ammo per ton ... cause even now you are fast out off ammo with the partisan ...

but seems to be a faster DMG/SEC than chainfired AC5's
