Will Crytek support a modding community for CE3? Will Crytek provide modding tools for the modding community? Crytek has a reputation for previously supporting modding efforts. But now the reality of the gaming marketplace puts that in jeopardy. I have heard word that Crytek may want to follow what Epic has done with the UnReal engine and offer a version of CE3 for the modding community with a tiered price structure.

The days of freebies are tending to fade away. Goodbye free, hello microtransactions.  ???

Looks to me like this is another post from a person not already satisfied with what they've got.  MWLL is by far the best online mech sim I've played, and the developers spent over 3 years designing it just to release a playable beta.

Suggesting a move to a new engine, which would cost enormous amounts of cash in addition to pretty much scrapping all they've accomplished over the years, and then suggesting your own rules from CBT on top of that, is less like a suggestion, and more of an insult to the developers, saying you're not happy with what they've given you already.

You want a mech game on the CE2 engine based on CBT rules.  Go ahead...make it.

Was this directed to me ?
My posts where just made out of pure curiosity and nothing else, I have great respect for the dev team and the energy and work they put into this great mod, I hope this isn't misunderstood by anyone.
The only thing that made me think about the engines was just my personal interest in the development and why CE2 was chosen.
CE3 is a logical thought then, considering it has better performance in general and should be a little more "mature" (considering some netcode/online bugs that Crysis simply has and some of these little annyoing things some devs apperantly can sing songs about already), then asking if it was of any use to port stuff over in relation to the work it would take, making life easier for further development.

To Aidan:
It appears Cryengine 3 Sandbox will be shipped together with Crysis 2 and supported the same as CE2 was at its begginning time.
Its obviously another 50 bucks down the drain for anyone to buy that game, so its again the question of the bang for your buck that always remains.

I said it appears.
I heared it in a tech video a while ago where they were showing off Sandbox 3, I have no idea if its still true or planned, and you will never know until Crysis 2 comes out.
Im personally pretty sure its gonna be that way though.
