I really like the big bassy thump of the PPCs, and the sound of getting hit by Gauss slugs. It just enhances that "OH GOD WHAT WAS THAT" feeling when you get hit.

Err... as i recall the sounds for the gauss hit is actually extremely underwhelming, as is every other projectile hit. It sort of just sounds like bullets hitting something metal, or bullets ricochet off of something metal.
When will full game/demo/beta be released?
We're planning a beta release in the next *very* few weeks. At this time, we can't be more specific. Please stop asking.

No, I will not stop asking.

So you've never had the "Frying pan hit over the head" sound that gauss hits make? although it doesn't sound like a big metal rod punching through ten inches of steel, I like it as it is.

On second thoughts, the PPCs would be more awesome if there was a high pitched whine after they fire or just before they are ready to fire, like the sound of a capacitor charging.

Hey hey, let's not turn a thank-you high-five thread into a your-lame do-better thread!

I really love the reactor sounds that you added in the latest patch. That actually adds a lot to the game, and brings back memories of hearing my reactor idle sound to go dry in StarSiege and being like "oh fapp..." because when your reactor goes, BOOM! you dead!

I like the LBX echo sound. CRACK. mmmm

Random note... the ambient background sound (almost music) that is present in Death Valley really adds atmosphere, and matches the ambience of the map really well. Also you hardly notice it, it is subtle yet effective. I mentioned it on in game chat once, and someone said it was a bug, just the menu sounds playing? It doesn't quite sound the same to me... is it a bug or something you have specifically added?

Reminiscent of the lonely MW2:Mercs missions.

If it's intentional.... more like that please!

Leer have you experimented with different ppc sounds?  I was just wondering what it would sounds like if the PPC was amplified with a louder crack for a mech size equivalent.  You live on florida so I know you have heard what a lightning strike and the thunder explosion thats happens when you are dangerously close. Thats what I imagine a ppc sounding like, especially after reading the books. IT mentions it as ear splitting loud.

one other thing, can I get a wav of the missile alert sound....it would be a perfect txt msg alert
