About the meteors of Death Valley
« on: January 17, 2011, 11:22:13 AM »
Those meteors look cool, and every time one of them hits the ground I wonder if it would damage/kill my mech if it hit me. The odds seem to be low of that ever happening, but I would like to know.

Has anybody ever been hit?
Are they coded so that they never hit anybody to avoid any random damage?
Is their placement deterministic? Means, are there certain spots that will get hit?

Pretty sure this topic has already come up, and it was stated that the meteors are for show already.

Yeah even if those things do no real damage they can pretty much scare people to death. By people I mean me.

They are an amazing effect. Nicely done. They really add to the depth of that map.

Are they tied to graphics settings? I've never seen them.

Actually I have heard of this a few other times while I commented on the meteors in-game.  Multipule people said they had their settings on low and they experienced no meteors.
