About CCC for Crysis Wars

I have heard some ppl say that using CCC for crysis wars improve their framerates and at the same time give them better graphics. As I am quite confused by how this work, I only manage to find CCC 3.0 for crysis warhead, will this work with wars?

Also when I open the autoexec.cfg I noticed that some parameters are blank, e.g tripple buffering, which are labelled to be customized to my own computer. What should I put in teh tripple buffer field, and can I leave the resolution width and height blank and leave teh gameto decide or do I need to manually input them?

Thanks in advance for any help and apologies if this has been covered in a previous post ( I tried searching for CCC and got a bunch of post that did not help me much).

First off, 3.0 is the version you want.  As for Triple Buffering, that's going to depend on your video card's memory size/speed/bandwidth.  Without going into the techno-babble about the extra buffers' footprint on your memory, just leave it off unless you have a kick-ass card or v-sync enabled.  And yes, you want to enter your desired resolution there; you will be able to change it in-game, but it'll reset every time you start the game.

i recently looked into this

some of the cvars for Warhead work on Crysis and Wars, some dont. 

apparently the cvars are identical between Crysis and Wars but different for Warhead

so CCC 2.1 was the latest version for Crysis, which if you copy and paste that autoexec into your Wars directory it will work the same, were as CCC 3.0 is for Warhead only

at least this is the information i found at the inCrysis forums and tested myself.  works great

I actually copied over my autoexec from vanilla to wars. It cleared up most of the performance issues I was having, and made it look tons better.

Ok I will try 3.0 (warheads version) and see if that causes any issues, if so I will revert to 2.1 Thanks guys for the great info.

Google 'custom crysis configs 3.0' and you shld get a forum page allowing you to dl a zip file with the necessary files. Follow the instructions on how to use and it shld either give you an autoexec..cfg file onto your main crysis wars folder giving you slightly better FPS with your current set up.

3.0 works for me btw, just 1 more question, what is teh difference btw a autoexec.cfg file and a system.cfg file? The generator in 3.0 allows me to have either.

If you use the autoexec that the Warhead 3.0 CCC makes in the Wars directory it will sorta work.....if you bring up the console in Wars after starting a map you will notice several "broken" cvars in red....because those cvars only work in Warhead. That is why the application is called Warhead CCC.  As others have said if you want all of the cvars to work properly in Wars you should use the original Crysis CCC 2.1 and simply copy the autoexec from the Crysis directory to threads directory.

The Warhead CCC 3.0 app is only needed for Warhead which is not needed for MWLL.

I just got CCC 3.0 and copied the autoexe into the wars folder. Wow! From chugging along to rarely dropping below 55-60fps. Really surprised! If I went and got CCC 2.x and dropped that in my wars folder, it would work even better is what you are saying?

I just emailed the author of the InCryis Tweak Guide for clarification, I can't find the article I read this in originally.

all i know is i also tried the autoexec that the CCC 3.0 Warhead app created and although it worked, when i brought up the console i had a ton more red cvar errors than normal in Wars

so i did some digging and found some information that suggested there are several cvars that are implemented differently in Warhead than they were in the original Crysis and Crysis Wars.  then read that using the 2.21 CCC original app was recommended for Crysis and Crysis Wars, that they share the same cvar sets and that somehow Warhead was the odd ball

this isnt to say it wont work, but think about it, there's a reason they created a completely separate app for Warhead and named it Warhead CCC.  there's also a reason why it doesnt give you the option to install to Wars directory or even mention Wars.  If Crysis and Crysis Warhead use the same cvars why would they go to the trouble to create a Warhead version?

Hi Got another question, I could only find CCC 2.21 for crysis and not 2.1, that should work fine correct?
