Only thing I know, is that it would be great, to have another Mechwarrior! But please in 2-3 Years, so MWLL can become a big success! :)

well there are some people working on MW: Dark Ages at the moment. So far I'm skeptical, since they are promising screenshots by Feb. and i don't know about that since there hasn't been any announcement until late last month. Oh wait...not screenshots...BETA testing. yeah, that's what it was.

Would be pretty epic.  I've read one of the Dark Age novels, they were pretty good.

I honestly would rather see this mod released than a new MW5 of the same caliber MW4 was of.

This market is alot tougher now than it was when 4 was released and the mainstream will not tolerate a dumbed down game.

Oh, I don't know, the mainstream seems pretty tolerant of dumbness.   ;D

But, I do agree that I would much rather see this mod released than any MW game based on the Dork Age garbage they came up with.

I would love to see a full studio take on the Dark Age. The thing about the dark age is that all the mechs look alot different and I'm not entirely sure that the old school mech fans would enjoy it.

www.smithandtinker.com                             Smith & Tinker have the rights to Mechwarrior now from what I see in their news letter. Anything after that is speculation,  I guess we all have to wait till Feb.   In the mean time I would suggest emailing Smith & Tinker with any questions.   Show them there is a interest.

Oh for Gods sake... :P

I am usually against censorship but I think the words "Dark Age" in that order should be banned form the internets.

Well maybe not but I am sure allot of people share my sentiment with regard to ending the disgussion about The MW Dark Age stuff and the rites being sold. Hey maybe they should put it in the newletter and officaly announce that the IP rites have not been jeopardized.

It does not seem like it will matter to MW:LL that they also have permission to use the IP.

Fact of the matter is this. To actualy buy the MW IP away from MS, would cost a fortune, a really big fortune.

It was not that they changed the Mechs that killed any interest.  It was the fact that they took a well developed universe, threw it out the window, and decided to start over again with what I consider a poor premise due to a lack of vision on how to proceed.

Dark Age... Not my favorite... The breakdown of technology and the HPG (That correct term? Been a while since I've read anything mechwarrior) net going down is an interesting plot, but nothing was done. Well as far as I read, but I didn't really enjoy the plot of most books. I found the older ones better.

wow way to open an old wound. the Dark Age spin on the Battletech universe is what killed my interest. It was horrible and ugghh i cant go on talking about it and wasting my time. It was trash and should be erased from history.

I completely agree with your assessment. It makes absolutely no sense for a established universe to "re-invent" itself.
