I don't really feel the same way. IIC designs are the 'Mechs the clans have that are holdouts from their times as the SLDF but where the design was so good at what it did that there was no reason to reinvent the wheel.  For example the Hunchie IIC or the Orion IIC.  The same is true for the Rifleman IIC.  In effect they are designs that hint to the origins of the clans.

Who else is sick of this RACs should be dedicated AA weapons BS?  I know I am, and all ACs should damage all targets, if there are some modifiers to 'armor classes', so be it.  Heck, what do MGs do? I used to use them as a back-up, if i was outta ammo for everything else, now they just take up space on Mechs.  I think they should damage heavy armor at 100-150m range, or some kind of short range.  I would love if the LRM15 Bushy had SPLs intstead, or even on MBL. :o :)

I haven't used RACs against aeroes recently, but they are definitely not merely AA. They can do extremely high damage vs heavy armor if kept on target.

Agreed, although probably more like 50-100m and less damage than SBLs. They should be the least effective weapon when used against armor, but not a complete waste of ammo.

up the price of the partisan be in the medium mech tier.

personally i find the harasser e an adequate aa unit for the starting round, and i like it in the endgame to cause it can keep up with the front line and escape if your line falls.

I totally agree. A RAC5 should have 50% more DPS potential then a AC20 IMO. If anything needs to be a dedicated AA weapon it should be LBX2s. Everything else should do normal damage (modify armor on ASF to compensate if needed).
