I dunno, increase leg armor substantially but have it limp much sooner? That way there is more time between 'hey i'm legged I should limp to cover or try and JJ back to base!' and *faceplant* lolboned.

*shrugs* not really sure how to solve this one.

Let's go with MW-2 style.

Lose a leg and stand still like a scare crow. Lose another leg and blow up.

the crysis laws of physics will be mad at you
I've played MW2 the past couple days... and I'm confused; whenever I "leg" an enemy 'Mech they usually fall over...

But regarding the Crysis-Physics Ive been wondering: Are those 'Mechs made of Papermache? The way they tumble certainly doesn't look like they're 25+ tons of Metal... (granted, by the time you removed a Leg it's prolly 5+ tons lighter :o)

In soviet clanspace, trinary bids you.

Save for the backflipping Lokis... something that heavy going that fast would probably tumble and be even more violent (probably with parts flying off) and be MUCH louder when crashing to the ground. Crysis physics was build with ragdolls and small object physics in mind I think.

I'm aware of this; I just wondered if it was maybe possible to adjust the "weight" of 'Mechs and their blown-off parts a bit to achieve a more realistic look?
(Also let's be honest: even in a "shooter" engine, Ragdolls don't look very realistic, quineg?)

/Atlessa - Just wondering...

Lol agreed, ragdoll physics as a whole are bad.

Save for more animations, which are tons of work obviously, I don't think there are many adjustments you can make without the physics engine getting VERY angry... at least that is my experience in other engines.. dunno about this one.

It depends on the version you play. The titanium version of MW2 has 'mechs fall over when legged, but in the older versions, the 'mech just stands still and doesn't fall over.
