The whole idea is to stay away from the redline guys, NOT sit at it. Sitting at it is opening yourself to vulnerability to PPCs and Flamers. And god forbid if you just alpha'd those HBL's and you get Fire Bombed.

Why? Put some free coolant on it. Instantly back to normal temps!

I still hang around the red line, just like before. As long as I avoid the point halfway between red line and 999, everything is fine. Plus, if problems arise, put coolant on it, ???, profit.

Sitting at about 80% of redline is pretty normal, especially with the aggressive delta-T. The average mech takes an eternity to sink heat below the 60% mark.

As I said before, the ability to crack your heatsinks makes the game even more reliant on aggressive coolant abuse more than ever before.

Question... does the heatsink damage the ones that come with the engine too? Or just the extra ones?

These occur at 75%, 50%, and 25%. 25% is the lowest you can go, so you still get a minimum of 25% of your cooling rate. They are fully repairable at a base.
