Show of hands on new damage rate?
« on: January 30, 2011, 04:44:49 AM »
Things got slowed down a bit with a flat 6.7% decrease to all mountable weapons.

It has been stated it was done as a test. So what do you guys think about this test?

DON'T POST IF YOU FEEL YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED LONG ENOUGH TO HAVE AN INFORMED OPINION.

Am curious...

I'll be coming back to post a real opinion once I get the good ol' hands on feel for how this plays out.

If guns weren't so accurate, I'd like for the weapons to do as much damage as MW5 trailer (one PPC to center torso = Atlas losing 25% armor) ;D

I like it. It feels like i have more time to think about target location, and make use of what experience ive had in targetting specific locations for maximum effect.

New idea- would I be able to use an external hard drive to add RAM and/or improve gigahertz?

While i respect your opinion, i personally wouldnt like to see it lower. You need to feel like your capable of finishing off damaged mechs before they can retreat, without resorting to over legging.

Honestly? I don't think another 6% lower would be a bad thing. Longer fights is a good thing and makes the assets seem like they have 10+ tons (in some cases) of armor. I never liked how easily you could be toasted in CBT and I haven't like it in the FPS games.

Nothing wrong with legging a runner to finish the job (I only disagree with legging when people use it to do the job).

Oh no nothing wrong with it, but i think lights already have the benefit of alot of armour compared to our initial releases. I think it plays quite well at the moment.

It does play well, but I don't think another slight reduction is too off. Especially in the case of clan lights vs IS lights. That poor Osiris needs to be piloted by Raptor Jesus himself to kill a vet in a Kit Fox.

A Vet was piloting the KitFox? If so, he needs to turn in his vet card.

Depends, if you take out the LBL arm on the prime and can dodge the SRMs its firepower is cut down alot.

The B is easy because its next to impossible to hit a sprinting Osiris with UAC10.

No one takes the C thank god, no way in hell you're beating that one.

Uller A was possible to fight in 0.3.2 if you took the gauss out first. However, with things slowed down it would be harder because he would get more shots at you. Havn't seen many myself.

The HL versions only work to 400m and take a while to do damage... so either farther off or really up close is your options.

A vet can easily hit the Osiris, but not so much in the same place if you can run around him correctly.

All that said, I fear the Owens C far more than any kitfox in the Osiris, its a big laser boat with epic armor and jesus speed, a big fapp you to the Osiris.

You didn't answer the question  8)

I know its possible to kill all the variants, but that depends who's driving and those mechs all exceed the Osi expect for in speed, and the new handling prevents easy dodges against someone who knows the Osi requires them to live.

Anywho, back on topic slower damage is a good thing.

The question was answered in my first reply. I have killed vets in kit foxes with the Osiris 1on1.
Didn't say I do it all the time, and agree the Osiris needs help.

But as to the damage right now... its in the right direction, both the WH prime and Hollander Prime are beast now!
