The herpathestus with TAG and an ATM-6 is my current favorite unit. I do like the thought of getting some points/money for your AECM preventing a NARC, hmm.

As a noob, explain to me how to use C3 please.

Is it automatic? or do you have to do something for it to work for your teammates?

It's automatic. You and your teamates can see enemies on radar beyond the typical 1000 meter limit;  I don't recall how much farther.

You get points using it *I think* when your team damages enemies you see on your C3.

For me, you gotta NARC in the Raven. Accept no substitute. Let your teammates distract the target, and toss a NARC at any target, preferably stationary ones. The Raven's speed allows it to pop over a hill and toss the NARC, or pop over a hill and grab some sensor data for some free C3 money.

The Heph C is also a favourite of mine. I think C3's odd on a Clan unit, but I'm not complaining. The ATM6 packs a punch with respect to its weapon type, and enough to track and annoy ASF or VTOLs. AECM is a huge boon to your heavies and assaults, cloaking rapemechs from the other team. I don't make any money as the Heph, but it's a real great support. The TAG, while situational, works too. The funnest part is just using your speed to grab sensor data, and occasionally running into the other team and losing your turret... Not that anybody can catch you at 120kph.

Isn't there a Scat that has C3?

The thing I love about the scat is it's ability to go into a full very-fast reversal (about 50-60 KPH reverse speed which is great) into moving forward in no time at all with liberal use of the X key. Lets you dogde between obsticles while "camping" a spot very very well.

As long as you (having a C3) keep your radar on, any friendlies within 1000 m of you (C3 range is unmodified by BHP/BAP) will see all the targets from your radar as well, if they have their own radar on.  You get points whenever you have targets on radar and friendlies are within this range and are using active radar. Naturally, you will get the most points if you have missile boats or AA units in range as they tend to keep their radars on much more than brawlers or snipers.

Also, C3 units can "relay" information (also requires active radar), so if a C3 unit A detects something, say, 1200 m in front of it (BHP for teh win), it can relay the info the C3 unit B 900 m behind it, who can relay the info to LT/Arrowboat 900 m behind it. Voila, 3000 m sensor range for the LT/Arrowboat, and units A and B both get points for this.

If you jsut want to get a C3 going for your team, i think the MRM VTOL is the best for this as you can just hover above the enemy or hit on top of mountains where they can't get to you. Needless to say, having an LT or two is awesome :)

Yeah MRM vtol is pretty great because of this. Not exactly great damage output (it's better as a harasser), but it's pretty good as a scout and distraction. The C3 really saves that VTOL varient.

GOD I love C3. Once mechlab comes out every mech I get's gonna get C3 even if it means reduced armor, weapons or etc.
