Yes, MWLL is the best mod I've ever seen, and the only mod I've played longer was Desert Combat. While that mod was amazing...I'm no programmer or animator but I'm going to guess MWLL is taking alot more skill to mod.

Of course, praise is always nice to hear, but it's also assumed. We play, so we love it. It's human nature to only pipe up when we're not happy about something. If we are pleased, we just shut up like babies with pacifiers in our mouths.

This is very true indeed. Often we developers tend to forget this - having topics like this one around reminds us that our work is actually appreciated - not to mention that our game is being played. We are very proud of what we have accomplished so far and are working hard to get our mod to a state where we, the developers, can consider it done and finally tag it as our 1.0 release :D There is a long way to go still (many more hours of work to get to that point) but I feel it's totally worth it. And I am just the guy setting up the beta build and taking care of our servers :D

Even when people do complain it's mainly a good sign. It say "I love your game but feel there's a critical flaw." If they thought the rest of the game wasn't any good they would also be quiet because they'd have moved on to something else. The reality is the community loves the game. Everyone has their own personal axes to grind (mine is the Shiva and firebombs), but I think I speak for most folks in the community that by and large we're:

I think the mod can easily get to numbers that are double what we see now. Easily.
IIRC thats about half of what bf2142 servers would look like number wise.
That would be an amazing feat.
The game really does get better and better, and rolling on a map like deathvalley with equal teams really imo is the pinnacle of online gaming right now. The things you see happening are just..... freakin... amazing.
Mektek really carried the flag for the community for years but what you guys have accomplished is brought the game up to date in the best way possible.
THe work and devotion to this mod literally blows my mind every day.
~S~
ps I can understand the sentiment of wanting to get to 1.0 after so much time put in already.
pps. if you are gonna take a run at mechlab eventually, perhaps the mechlab could simply be what the devs limitations are on variants.

Yeah pretty much this. Sometimes this mod frustrates the hell out of me, but when it's at its best it's just incredible. there really isn't anything else like it, which is probably why I just... can't... stop... playing.

Let's just say there's a reason I've played since .1 and never registered or gave input (until very recently).

there we go.

(since text sucks for this stuff, I should explain that I think this mod is amazing and much more fun than all those crappy rehash multiplayer games)

Devs

I just sacrificed my 2nd born in your honor.
Thank you for your efforts and for having enough patience to make this so successful.

I now must wash...

I've been a longtime fan of Mechwarrior, but I never really grasped the multiplayer component of any of the games. In 2009ish, I finally gave the multiplayer of Mechwarrior 4 a shot, and was disappointed beyond belief. It was basically a huge jumpsnipe fest with only assault mechs on the battlefield. That experience really made me lose my faith in playing any of the Mechwarrior games online.

However, when I discovered this mod back in October 2010, I was blown away by the graphics. I bought Crysis Maximum Edition just for it, and I can honestly say it was worth every penny. Not just the graphics, but the gameplay is also phenomenal. Sure, there may be some balancing issues, but I think the devs have done a great job of preventing the battlefield from being dominated by assault mechs. This mod has completely restored my faith in Mechwarrior becoming a viable series for online play, and it's all thanks to the people who created it and contribute to it every day. With that said, I want to say thank you devs, for your breath of life back into the Mechwarrior series.
