Why I will buy Crysis

After I read the reviews for Crysis I decided that other than eye candy I didnt think the game had much appeal to me so I decided not to get it. Well this mod and Microsoft giving you guys the go ahead changes all thathttp://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/49121. So I was wondering - How many people felt the same way I did about Crysis before this mod?

The main reason I had not purchased Crysis on release day was a lack of free time to play it.  Once I saw the story on this mod, that hesitation went right out the proverbial window.

I have herd the sp game is amazing (verified by the demo) but the mp is hum-drum (verified by the demo). With half a game going for it, ill wait untill this mod makes it worth it

Well, I think of Crysis like HL2.  Really awesome SP, basically non-exsistant MP (at the time, there will be updates, and I do like Powerstruggle better than CSS and HL2DM, just feels un-polished), and a kick-ass mod community.

I mean, I bought HL2 in 2006, loved it, and played some of the best mods made to date on that game.

I really enjoy Power Struggle matches.  However the game's bugged out the wazoo - performance issues, weapon balance, AA veh's blow up when you try to fire the main guns (unless friendly fire is off), random deaths when exiting vehicles, the list goes on...

Not to mention all the hackers.  For the most part it's 3rd party programs people use to modify values of items they have (i.e. unlimited grenades or nukes) and it's quite frustrating.  I don't understand the mentality and it ruins the game for people who don't cheat.  If people want to play with other cheaters they should make a server for that.  If they want all non-cheaters to leave the game or only play passworded servers (effectively killing the public community), well, they're certainly going about it the right way.

Before I found out about this mod I was like, "meh, Crysis, just another FPS" (although a really pretty looking one).  But if this project achieves any significant degree of success, it will be a godsend for me.  I fell in love with MW2, played in an MW4:Mercs clan (at least for awhile), and had just about lost all hope of ever seeing another Mechwarrior game.  I even looked into rolling my own (to no avail, I'm afraid.  I'm not very good at writing code just yet).

all the BF2 servers, just run around and kill each other, its very boring, I also noticed some hacks, I
mean its has to be, what some of these guys can do is just stupid.

  I hope this mod is better then the game play now avaible, not sure how you guys will keep the hacks out,
that has always been the downfall of computer games, seems no way to stop it.

Wrong, there are plenty of way to stop it. Hacking and cheating is the focus of the work I am doing now(ways to stop)

Soon I will post I report about how it can be defeated and how it has been stoped in the past.
