The your epic moments thread
« on: February 19, 2011, 05:45:36 AM »
This is a thread for your epic moments.

Like this.

Today, I was playing on the Blazing [A]ces 2M C-bill server, and I took a NARC Shiva and went up against Torch, another Shiva pilot on the server. We started a dogfight, but I turned to face him in my fighter, and we were flying straight towards each other. OMGs and LOLs ensued in my mind as I clipped his wing, blowing us up and I getting the kill, but somehow I lived and jumped out of my falling VTOL shaped wreckage and made it back the the Mech base.  That was my first survived and first ever successful kamikaze I ever did so far. What are your epic moments?

I once shot and destroyed an aero with a single Long Tom shell. How ridiculous is that?

I was there on Sandblasted when you did it.
It was one of the most epic moments I have ever seen.

I was in a Scat A hunting the LT. I ran out of ammo and was rtbing and I looked back and POW!, Shoryuken'ed out of the sky!

Saw a meteor impact a mech and detonating it close to 60 meters in front of me on TC_Deathvalley.
Hilarious to the extreme and I gased a little from surprise-shock xD

Back in 0.2 I've been flying around extremity, using my mPPC and JJ to stay at ASF altitude levels, when I saw a VTOL crossing my line of flight under me.
I switched to my BearAC, took it almost out with a single clip, then dropped a C8 which stuck (was a rare thing in 0.2, even worse then now) and finished it of. Once in a lifetime moment of pure awesomeness.

Yea, it was Sandblasted. That was a few months ago. I'm surprised you remembered it! I don't recall who else was on the server at the time, only that the aero pilot was rather annoyed, and I had to nudge him that he had to admit that was an awesome shot...he didn't respond. LOL

Last night I had a really kick ass time on Huntress.  3 of Clan Wolf were there, one being Errodien. If you see this name, be prepared for a world of BA hurt!  If you wish to learn to be a Master BA player, ask this Elemental for tips, other two were Cobblerfiend and Aresye. Man Aresye any assest you kick ass in, I do not remember the mech i was in, owens? But i ran around a corner, you were a BA with Errodien and i think it was two mppc, two baHL and 4 srms that hit me, in like 3 seconds, BOOM! Awesome!

Haha the best was at one point i was in either a SCAT E or Cougar D (my two mechs of choice as of late) it was Pallisades and I was a IS bondsman. Both Cobbler and Aresye were in heavy mechs, Summoner and Timberwolf. It was a few rounds of me and DeadonAim in lights vs two of them in heavies and epicness ensued.

Next round was DV and deadonaim i believe had left.  Chavez_ninja i think it was came in and him and Aresye had it out for a good portion of the map in ASFs while me and Cobbler took it one on one.  A few good duels took place before the server got more pubers.  During the early game the CW ticketstomp us, grabbing all the bases. I think the IS had maybe a 175 at least point gab from the clans when other people joined. In the end I was top of the kill board for a second round and the IS turned the tides against the wolves!  Being top kill board with 10 kills each round is awesome to me considering I have been playing since April last year and up till a month and a half ago i was usually 4/13 K/D lol.  Now I am often a Star Colonel atleast by the end of a match.

I am finding the Cougar D and Shadowcat E being my favorite mechs even when I have access to heavies and assaults (though it is always nice to bring out a Clan Heavy) I just do so much better in the lights.

My epic moment was super duper pre-alpha when we first got missile code working and were running tests.

I was in a floating catapult (only model we had in game, no leg animations, was a hovercraft entity so it could move) and I was trying to hit a Kharnov with LRM's as it was pummeling into me with hull-mounted weapons, floating ominously before me, before it spun out of control due to shitty physics and exploded in flaming glory because there was a vehicle in the back that wasn't stable (which we're still working on, lulz). Then I did a barrel roll because a hovermech is retarded.

Win.
