BF3 sux

IMHO, 2142 was the best game in the series.  The gameplay is so fun I still play it pretty often, and the weapons are all stuff I could picture being standard issue by then, at the present rate of technological advances in firearms.

That, and the weapons and tanks in this game are the stuff of wet dreams (for me, anyway).

The assault class's airburst rockets in 2142 were my favorite weapon. Very fun and rewarding kills.

I love 2142, its a pity that most non 24/7 conquest servers are full of ghosts. I really like conquest and playing 24/7 Gibraltar gets boring after 3 hours.
I've had lots of fun with the great variety of weapons in 2142. Here is a list of what I use.

Assault
           Scar 11 AR + AR rockets + Defibrillator
           Buar H-AR + AR shotgun + Smoke grenades
Support
           Clark 15-B + infantry sonar + Clark 12-RDX
           Ganz HMG + sentry gun + EMP grenades
Engineer
           Pilum H-AVR + motion mine + defuser
Recon
           Lambert Carbine + active camo + demopacks

I am surprised that I still remember all that given that I have not played since November.
I should start playing again once spring brake arrives.

That's obviously singleplayer (SP in a BF game, whut?) and it looks way too much like CoD...

Better graphics and physics than prior games obviously, the dragging feature...other than that...I dunno, nothing is striking me as being all that special.

Best best news I've heard so far is that the maps will be large again, rather than the tiny, linear BC bullshit. OMFG BC was just shit.

I'm sure this new incarnation of the BF franchise will be the best BF game in many years  (though probably completely inferior to the original 1942 game), but I've seen nothing that's got me on the edge of my seat waiting on it. They're almost certainly removing the commander feature, but I don't see them adding any new innovations of significant noteworthiness. Dragging buddies? How exciting...

I know right, but the last games (bf:mc, BC1, BC2) where consoles ported to the PC, this time consoles take the back seat (thank god). 1942 was pretty good, but it I honestly feel that all of them ('42, vietnam, and BF2) where pretty much the same game in different eras. Grant BF2 had commander, but honestly it was rare to see a good commander with a good team (aka would actually follow orders, and correct support form a commander to the team).
