Hooray for Mr. Bubbles
« on: February 21, 2011, 09:03:06 PM »
So I just ended a match with a 22/4 kd ratio all thanks to my wonderful new best friend, Mr. Bubbles.  Those RAC-5's seem to tear up anything in a matter of moments. I took the time to get creative and blasted off all the LBXs off a boomstick . The end result was a flaming cockpit reminiscent of carrot top about to get a dose of MRMs.

Who else shares my new-found love of le bubbly? Who has a searing hatred for the beast?

Probably it would be a good idea to reduce ROF on RACs and then increase the damage a bit to compensate.

I'm happy to take credit for both Mr. Bubbles and Master and Commander :D

Except my Master and Commander had AECM and an HGauss.

Actually you can thank Aurailius for Mr. Bubbles, and KingLeer for Master and Commander. Defintely good additions for the Atlas  ;D

Mr Bubbles is awesome. Everyone loves him, even your enemies. Thats the only reason I can think off why every time I'm in a Bubbles everyone runs into my range, but when I am in a Whammy A everyone runs for his life and stays on distance  ::)

To bad its so slooooooooow...
Can I trade the MRM10s for SRM 4s and a MASC?

Bubbles is a great demolisher counter, but against other assaults he is so/so. Anything with range and cockpit shake and you're going to have a hard time.

We needed something with more RAC5s, and the old Atlas A kinda sucked.   8)

Bubbles rules!  Set MRMs to group 1 and chain-fire them......should keep the enemy rocking long enough to make balloon animals out of his 'mech with the RACs and shake doesn't matter that much to Mr B at ideal range (0-300m or so) as long as your not zoomed in, shake is the games way of telling you to cool your RACs :D...although I've never faced a SRM Vulture in Bubbles (just the usual PPC shake etc), so maybe I'm wrong there.

Plus Mr B does give you the chance to quote BioShock a lot...Player X: "Need help d4" me: "I'll be there soon with MR BUBBLES!"....or "Look! Mr Bubbles,  Angels!" etc.  We should change the pilot model to a demonic 9 year old girl clutching a teddy bear for the full effect  ;D

After hearing all the hoorah about this mech a few weeks ago I gave it a go, but it didn't work out for me. Arguably I was perhaps over-emboldened by all the flag waving and got a little over my head so that may have been my bad.

Everyone ganged up on me and soon enough it was "sleepy time Mr Bubbles."  :-\

I've never given him a fair shake.  I'm biased against both MRMs and weapons that you have to continuously hold on your target.

I have tried the Master & Commander...it was alright but I don't think the Atlas or Assaults in general are good for my play style.  Anything 64kph and slower creates an uncomfortable "sitting in molasses on a day that is colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra" type of feeling for me.
