Lolz such a tease, but I come with the goods
And so, hate turns to love.
I love you SquareSphere.
As for what to learn, remember you can learn as much from our mistakes too. I would point you to Exhibit Vahl, the suicide assault pilot. Walking out in the open and hitting X = dead assault. You can also look at us for how not to do focus fire in the first round. It took us way too long time to focus our fire to deal with that mkII. Watching that vid I also have to wonder what in the world possessed me to jumpjet towards that crit going of. I remember wanting to tear that mkII a new one, so that was probably the reason. Still... would have been better to jumpjet backwards away from the explosion. Would only have affected my flamers... Too much rah rah, kill, kill I guess.
On Sandblasted it was mostly your inability to focus fire and to spread damage among yourselves that caused the loss I think. Not easy at all to focus a bushy swarm, and those things are fast to boot. With decent focus a bushy swarm is kinda like piranha. As soon as a juicy targets get some damage the swarm go after it like mad. Also circling around opponents and going passive when one starts to get attention makes it hard for opponents to single out and stay with you. I can say my mech had its torso armour replaced with a big open window by the end.
Your list on Pallisades was fun. You sort of lost initative there between the mountains though. Bunched yourselves up really well and had no real way to go. A crit is unlucky, but the circumstances surrounding it did not exactly help in the eventuality of a crit. From spec I thought Crush charge was weird to say the least, and totally suicidal. Seems it did a good job though of messing you guys up. The crit of course helped, but even had he not had one he bunched you guys up well in that little outcropping thing.
Marshes was pretty well handled. Good range for the initial LRM storm. Just enough to be in range, but still far away. I would probably have gone for another NARCer and use the cash to get something that could hit faster units reliable. If one want to go with the 2 LRM maddogs then those will have to be enough to take the heavier slower assets out.
As a side note, sometimes focus targets are hard to hear over the thundering of ACs or the rhythmic hammering of RACs...
/Merf - Love offered, comments given and thanks sent to the 12th for the fun games!
PS. Crush on Pallisades was in a buchwacker, not a shadowcat
