Don't get me wrong, Halo was a great game, and then it was kind of meh for me, until Reach, which was a good game too. I dislike Halo fanboyism though, probably more than COD fanboyism, just because it's been around longer. They claim Halo was so innovative and new, and don't realize how much supposed "new" material was borrowed from other games and movies.
Claim:
Halo was the next choice, for bringing FPS’ to consoles, introducing regenerative health and solving the tricky issue of multiple weapon swapping by limiting the player to 2 guns at a time.

I don't even feel I need to go in-depth with this one. I guess GoldenEye was not an FPS, and the Nintendo 64 a console. Regenerating health? That was done in 1994 with Wolverine on SNES. Limiting a player to 2 guns? Yeah, that was done way, way before Halo.
Claim:
Dual wielding is a special combat technique in which a gunman wields two weapons at once, one in each hand. This feature was first introduced into the Halo video game series in Halo 2 and continued in Halo 3.
From:

Claim:
Vehicular Combat
From: Nearly every Halo fanboy.
Truth: I see this one a lot. How Halo is the first game to introduce vehicular combat, or a slightly less insulting version, the first game to introduce team-based vehicular combat. Both of these are dead wrong. The concept of multi-vehicular combat I can trace back to the Tribes genre.
Other things the Halo series has ripped off:
Aliens (Movie): Sgt Avery Johnson is a near 100% complete ripoff of Sgt Apone. Then there is of course the line you hear in-game, "Game over man!" Complete ripoff of Hudson's doomed moment. In addition, the Pelican dropship looks very similar to the dropship used in the movie. The level in which you are first introduced to the Flood is very similar to the first encounter the Marines had with the xenomorphs from Aliens.
Avatar (Movie): A recent movie, sure, but Microsoft could at least made it look less obvious that the helicopter/transport in Halo Reach is nearly a replica of the helicopters used in Avatar.
So that's the stuff I noticed so far. Feel free to add on to the thread with your own personal observations.
